Savage, Winchester, Marlin. The real American made Rifles. In that order. After that the Uberti made copies of the Win 92, 66, 73, 86. I did have a Browning B92 in .44Mag, it was sweet. Rossi's & henry's are below the bottom of the list.

I think Lyman still sells "brass baggies", which are small plastic net baggies closed with a twist tie. Fill a with a box of 9mm and dump in a tumbler full of .45ACP.

This morning I beat my brains out trying to figure out why my 20yr old Hornady L-N-L PM suddenly started to drop widely varying charges of Titegroup. I pulled 150 loaded rds of suspect .44Mag Cowboy Ammo out of rotation and dumped them in an Old...

I think Hornady makes a 150gr bullet specifically for the .300 Savage. I think it's a SST, for the lower velocities of the .300Sav. Check their latest Manual if you can.

That's about $14 more then just 3yrs ago. They seem to introduce new products every year. But just let the Casting line stumble along with no quality control. No wonder all the new small shops are "eating their lunch".

Most of the weight listed for Lyman molds are for bullets cast of Lyman #2 alloy. If your alloy has a higher lead content then the bullets you cast will be heavier. The #358156 is a Thompson Gas Check design. Lyman took over producing his molds...

I started buying old Reloading manuals when I was back in H. S. in the late 1960's. Have most from Post WW2. Back in the true glory days of the Gun Show. Great reference material. The Old-Timers knew a lot more the we do today. Old stuff...

I got shafted by Midway, back about 18yrs ago. Just when they started their "fair and honest shipping" Bought a Hornady L-N-L Reloader. S&H was $35. Two years later I had to send it back to Hornady for repair. Some ham-fisted BABOON(me) had...

What's wrong with the Nosler Partition ? My family used them for years. Sierra's for practice & Deer Hunting, Nosler's for Elk hunting. I have 2 M1917's, one is a as-issued. The other is Semi-sporterized in .257Rob'ts. The bolt stop, mag box and...

like phantom22 im new in the BP 45-70-405 loading. A family member recently gave me a model 1873 manufactured in 1878. I remember him shooting off the shelf remington 300gr semi-jacketed hollow point ammo out of it many moons ago. I've been around...

I sit down at my picnic table on my covered patio. With either the RCBS Pro-Melt or Lyman Mag-20 at just below eye level. No Problem seeing the spout. Have a Lee 10lb that I used to use for pure lead, had no problem seeing that that either. Guess...

Congrats on joining the Fraternity. Lee has some great stuff at learner prices. But if I had to depend on one of their scales. I'd give up reloading after 60yrs+. You can skimp on some things but never a scale. I have 2 beam scales; a...

My experience with lee has been mostly poor. In particular the crimp dies. I bought a fcd almost 20yrs ago on a rather insistent recommendation of a Fellow Cowboy Shooter. For .44-40; it worked like garbage. I soon discovered I had a .44mag die...

As a kid I learned the only rifle rounds to be crimped were those shot in a Garand, M1 Carbine, or similar auto loading rifle. And Lever Action rifle. Case Neck tension held bullets in w/o any crimp. Still do it that way. Revolver ammo is roll...
