Yeah let soak a few days then set it on the dash of a car and let that Australian sun heat it up for ten minutes and gently tap on it with a soft hammer.

Something I learned about the SOCOM is my kinetic bullet puller can't grip the rim because the body diameter is so big. I learned I can hold the cartridge in place with a shell holder then screw the cap down on the shell holder.

I'm learning from this thread too. I just annealed some cases in hopes of more consistent boolit seating effort.

Yep, it's not the end of the world that she got a set of tires on her own. If she's a keeper don't make this into something bigger than it needs to be.

I know supporting the fore end properly is important but this has me wondering about cheek weld and consistent placement of the butt stock to your shoulder. Just wondering if you're keeping that in mind as you shoot your string. For me when I'm...

Shooting pc boolits into snow banks last winter I could tell the difference with boolits fired from a 45 ACP. Same load and alloy the non pc boolits expanded better than the pc ones did. NOE 230 HP, had to wait till spring to retrieve them but the...

Is the powder old, look or smell bad? Do the boolits seat too easy as if they are too small in diameter?

http://accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=46-305S-D.png I shake and baked a few hundred of this boolit. They weigh about 315 grains coated. I'm having trouble getting it to shoot as accurate as want though, the best I can get is about 3''...

Medium speed rifle powders like this are the way to go in the Marlin. Stay away from fast rifle powders like 4198 & re 7. They will get you there as far as velocity but recoil will be more like a punch. 3031 & 4895 powders really make the 45-70...

pmer replied to a thread reducing my 45-70 load in Cast Boolits
I don't think you mentioned the rifle but if it is a Marlin 1895 try a big charge Imr 3031 with 415 grain bullet. This sounds weird but it will shoot flatter and not kick as hard because of the characteristics of the medium speed powder. It will be...

https://tromix.com/product/375-socom-light-weight-barrel-bolt-combo/ Here's to slinging medium sized chunks of lead over 2000 fps. Has anyone tried the 375 socom? Looks like an easy neck size from 458 socom.
