I haven't shot a boolit that looks like that mp- 305S. It looks like it's center of mass is forward in the nose someplace? Short shank and long nose? I think you're estimating the weight of that boolit heavy as well. I bet it will barley make 300 as...

I've done more PC than PP. I've PP .452 boolits for 45-70 and 458 socom mostly just to see how it went and seemed like a good usable way to go. The last PC I've done was gas checked 35 cal for a 358 win. It gave me good predictable accuracy with...

I like the added weight in dkf's drawing. My upper is a SOTA arms.

Thanks, the 46-405a is a great boolit. Here is a pic of a deer that could of swore it was shot with a 45-70! But no it was a .458 SOCOM using a 45-70 boolit. This guy was a horn dog pursuing doe's and chasing off bucks. But back to a custom .458...

There is allot to like about this cartridge. Does anyone use VV N540 in the 358? I got some I'd like to use up. Could use a starting point with it.

I'm not claiming to be any sort of 458 socom expert but if the goal is to get a type of flat nose to work in a AR, I had some challenges to get them working. It would be nice to have another member chime in with their experience. I've tried meplats...

Does anyone know what it has for a barrel extension? Will it be able to feed wfn or lfn boolits?

I think I would take one of your barnes bullets and grind the nose down till it matches the meplat in post 30. Then make a dummie round to make sure feeds from a magazine. I would try it from a full mag and a near empty one. Just for reference; ...

When I see this cartridge I can't help but think of moleman and all work that he did on the Max Rimless. Didn't Moleman break the trail on this idea and did all work to get it to the point of short run production. Even has put deer on ground to...

I'm late to the 358 Winchester party but I have the 245 grain Seaco and the 35-200 fn. In my Hawkeye the 35-200's don't feed the last round of the mag either (right side). The nose misses the hole for the chamber and hits the end of the barrel at...

The 6.5 I had was a 6.5-284 norma that I used for F class and long range. The difference between the norma and winchester was that the norma chamber reamer was ground so that certain brands of brass would fit tighter in the chamber. I only shot the...

I have the 358429 and learned it does good in my Rossi 92 lever action. I crimp on the front band so it cycles good and use a 357 mag case. Gotta keep the velocity up there because of the twist rate. I seem to shoot the 358432 more than the 156 or...

I got these 405 grain Marlin boolits to feed in my SOCOM by grinding the magazine lips back. I'm not sure why but I think its because the cartridge pops up free of the mag earlier in the forward movement of the BCG. .325 meplat, the upper mag is...

I had to break out the 20 foot snow rake to pull snow off of some roofs. All of that snow can cave a roof in.

Lots of snow here! I use a snowmobile and make trails for walking or cross country skiing on. I can pull 4, 1 gallon jugs of water in a small sled with the cross country skis for using as water targets.
