My first Willow was Sand Bar Willow. Just saw it next to the road, stopped and cut a bunch and used that and it worked fine. As Fly pointed out Tree of Heaven works well and is all I use now. I would use what ever willow is available, I get the...

This is the one that I got https://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/883/2/RS-CREED-3-WE but it was about $50 when i got it. If you intend to do any competition your money would be better spent on good sights. If you are going to...

Well I bit the Boolit, so to speak, and ordered a 40-50 Shiloh yesterday from Bill Goodman. Figured if it doesn't meet my expectations I can always run it out to 40-70. But it is just too cute to not have fun with. It should be a fine deer rifle,...

I put one of the TOW verniers on mine and it worked just fine for 100yd work. If you can find it try some SR4759 that gave me the best groups with the Lee Boolit. Bob

I get a little lead every time I shoot but not enough to be a problem. I tried straight WW lead and it leaded so bad that within 10 shots I couldn't keep them on paper. 20-1 has always worked good for me in my Pedersoli with BP. Never tried...

Oztrapr, PP is the way to go for sure. Were you with the Australian Team? I was a range officer at Camp Butner in 15, sure was a hot place. The South Africans are great people, I lived there in 82 and 83 working and was always treated well....

As an old guy I like BIG apertures on both ends. I find it is easier to center things with lots of daylight around the target. I use the largest front aperture I have and have drilled out my Hadley cups, way oversize. With the smaller apertures in...

I use the copper tubing filled with lead as well, works like a charm. I cut the scrap tubing I had laying around with a tubing cutter. Drilled a piece of scrap wood so the tubing fit in the holes and then filled them with lead, easy peasy. Bob

Oak Ridge is a ML only match and quite a bit of fun. Everything is geared making it as easy as possible for a novice. It is a long way from ID though and at a time of year when the weather can be dicey. Personally I like BPCR more than the ML but...

Yes he is and a true gentleman as well. I have shot against Lee but not Dave. I met him in 2015 at the ML world meet in NC. I was there as a range officer, not shooter. I did beat Lee at the Oak Ridge match this year and was tickled with that...

I guided elk hunters in NM for a number of years, almost all primitive hunts (ML and Bow). I saw way more elk get away or clean misses than dropped. As I said "I'm not saying the 50 won't do the job with good shot placement at close range but it is...

What caliber? If it is a 50 I would consider going to a conical of some sort. A RB bleeds energy pretty quick past 50yd. Personally I would want a minimum 58cal with a RB. I'm not saying the 50 won't do the job with good shot placement at close...

For the most part I only use the 3F since my best accuracy has come from that. Even the 2F goes back in the grinder. I end up with probably 40% 4F which passes the 30 mesh screen. So what you are getting sounds pretty good. I just re-wet the float...
