I haven't tried to make the cartridge holders but have built a number of cheek risers. I have put retaining loops around the butt. Another thing that works pretty good is to put a piece of tool drawer liner under the leather. This stuff keeps tools...

I finally got a chance to shoot a bunch of 62 gr 40-65 loads that I tried with and without neck tension and varying compression levels. Tried some 1.5F Kik as well as 2F OE. The Kik was quite a bit slower than the OE. The best 2 loads were OE with...

I had a friend bulged a barrel on a 38-50 and couldn't tell any difference in accuracy. I have a 38-40 with a slight bulge, you can feel it when cleaning but can't see it and it shoots fine. I also bulged a barrel on a 45 auto and didn't even know...

I had a 357 mag done on a small action and the smith that did it specializes in Martinis and he wouldn't do it in Max, said the round was too long. Even the 357Mag has to have the lever lowered against the spring tension to get the round in the...

I shoot a 385gr LBT .460 boolit in mine. It was made for a Trapdoor. If you use 20-1 with BP the boolit will slug up to fit the bore. Smokeless not so much. This is what mine will do with that load. Bob

I gaged my powder with store bought. You have to also remember that the thickness of the wire in the screens makes a difference. Thick wire and 30 mesh could mean 4F. Powder making is like skinning a cat there is more than one way to do it and they...

Try a finer powder. My guns shoot best with 3F. My 3F is what is held on a 30 mesh screen. This after it has passed a 16 mesh and 20 mesh. Bob

I have never seen a motor that fast on a household appliance. Usually a motor in that size would be 1750 or 3500 RPMs. Motors of that persuasion aren't that expensive. Bob

Not knowing where you are, makes for problems. In the US Vic Samuels is a great resource. Here are 2 he has done for me. A 357mag without the scope, a 7mm Waters with the scout scope. The Waters shoots a dime size group at 100yd, haven't figured out...

Wish I still had mine, it would be cheaper to shoot than a 22LR. Bob

62 was one of the loads that looked promising along with 59gr and a wad column that gave .260 compression. According to The Greenhill formula for my boolit 1338fps should be a good velocity. If SgtDog's numbers hold up that would be about right. I...

I'm trying to work up a 40-65 load for that Brooks mold I got from you, with OE 2F. I had it figured out with Swiss but the OE is giving me fits. I get a good group one time but then it doesn't hold up for more of the same. In my 45-70 LR rifle it...

I did but I sure wouldn't want to do it for a living, I'd starve to death. The Lee 250gr has a wide meplat and one that I recovered was nicely mushroomed and the weight was almost 100%. The Postel copy is somewhat pointed and I was afraid it would...

Mike, does that work with BP as well? I have lots of WW lead and it shoots tight groups for about 10 or 12 rounds and then the leading begins to ruin everything. I'm really good on pure but if I could integrate those WWs it would stretch my supply...

My Badger Barreled 38-55 (15 twist) likes that boolit with 47gr of 2F Swiss & .060 veggie wad with .006 over primer wad. I've tried OE and it seems to shoot about the same but never got serious about grouping it. For hunting I just swap the Lyman...
