Just received mine the SN is 600+ earlier than listed. I went for the 54 and I would think that the 50cal would be more popular. Bob

The way I understand it the powder measures are set up for 2F powder so 33gr would be about right for the denser powders like Swiss and OE. Personally I have never fooled with T-7. Back when I was guiding elk hunters in NM, I had a hunter take an...

Somehow I never heard of this dealer, but those rollers sold out pretty quick at those prices. I'd like to have one of the 12X44s in centerfire. Bob

My thoughts as well but I got an excellent price on this one and it has grown on me after re-barreling and new wood. Bob

I'm not that worried about it. This is my down time and a good time to have a project. Several years ago I had to put a finishing shot on a ML deer and it would have been nice to have a powerful back up. My hunting partner was surprised to hear a...

Down to my last box of Br-2s and man is replacement cost on those puppy's dear. You can find them though which is a big difference from the last 8 years. Fortunately I saw the handwriting on the wall and stocked up on everything the day after Obama...

I got one 12 or so years ago and it actually shot pretty good in the 8MM chambering, but I converted it to 40-65. I wish I had a good use for the barrel and parts left over. Bo

You might want to stick with the 1" if you have plenty of them, just easier to do the smaller stuff. Bob

A little late but I've had good luck with OE2F and the Postel, 68gr for mid range and 76 for LR. Bob

Just saw one at KY Gun Company day before yesterday in 223. It is a little different than the H&R and had some real impressive wood on it. I didn't look too close since I wasn't interested in the caliber. They only had one of them. Bob

Having gotten into this addiction late in life I really appreciate the use of a period correct scope. The first few years the iron sights were fine and I still can use them for targets but those silhouettes started getting real hard to see about 4...

In Mike Venturino's book on Buffalo rifles he states that about 1/3 of the rifles leaving the Sharps factory had scopes. They cost more than the rifle but if you figure what these guys could make compared to a normal working smuck the scope would...

Different owner now but they do still have parts as far as I know. Bought mine from the previous owner who manufactured the kits right there. Said that he had 28 employees turning out the kits for the H&A and the Mowery Rifle back in the 70s and...

Glad you're back Fly. It looks like an arms race around here with you guys getting so mechanized, hell I'm still using the bench vice, but then I'm not making that much powder to justify more stuff in my shop which is already overcrowded. Bob

I have had both hammer and trigger break on mine from Deer Creek. I think the problem is that they are cast parts and unsure about the heat treating on them if any. Polishing might help a little. I believe that Deer Creek also carries replacement...

I used graphite early on and it helped feeding through a measure. I'm not sure if just tumbling the powder might not work as well by knocking the corners off of the grains, which should help get more in a confined space like a cartridge case....
