I coat and then size while adding the gascheck. I usually tap the bullet on the steel plate I have my press mounted on to seat the check before I then go and run it through the die. If I'm shooting over 1800fps, I then coat and size again to...

Don't know about the 250 grainer, but the Lee 220 grain boolit lands close to the previous one with 39 grains of 3031. Found that 5744 did a decent job with the 200 grain RCBS boolit. Winelover may remember the amount. 5744 loads are in...

The only time I ever removed that screw on the rifle was when I went to convert that percussion cap nozzle from its original to a Musket-sized primer cap (bigger flash hole for the flame and more flame from the Musket Cap and its been on there for...

My father did that for his straight stock Marlin lever-action in 44 Magnum in the 90's. A bit of cutting and welding and a bit of judicious filing before a reblue and boom, big D-loop lever for a big gloved hand for winter hunting in Maine. My...

I'm on year 3 since I did a major prune on my apples and pears. I'm hoping to have them recover by next year. My apples had some apples last year but my pear trees who produced well their first two years haven't blossomed since. I'm planning...

For my SKS, it preferred my Lee 155gr C.E. Harris designed bullet. For my 7.62x39 AR15 upper (both in 1-10" twist) I found I had better accuracy with my old Lyman 311359 (120gr) because that barrel had much shorter throat than my Chinese SKS

Out of print and currently going for $221 on Abebooks.com... A bit more affordable book that details the German Commission Rifle's as well as the 8x57 cartridge development as well as the Mauser 98 series of rifles is Hans Dieter Gotz's book...

bruce drake replied to a thread 8x57 boolits? in Military Rifles
One that I would recommend. Lee's 215gr Karabiner mold which is a long flatpoint. Midsouth Shooter's Supply carries the mold as one of their specialty molds. Its a lot easier to find than the out of production Lyman #323471 ...

Guess I will say I LIKE my Remlin 45-70 22" just fine so far. Gotta get some boolits through it though. Gonna be my Plinkin gun!
