My nickle being new to a Marlin and 45-70 . My 20" 1895 stops being fun with 415 gr 462-420 MP and 458193 right at 1750 fps and just as the 4350 cleans up , that makes it about 30-31,000 psi load and just off the bottom of the Marlin loads . The...

Baja Traveler what a wonderful Christmas offering! I would love to be included in this drawing. I own two 22 Hornets a Handi-rifle I picked up a few years ago that has a strong preference for Midway 34 grain dogtown bullets over Lil gun. The...

The frame I had needed 1.965 . It needed .004 to keep the cylinder muzzle off the barrel extension and to correct the headspace to a reasonable level . Cylinder shims for double actions worked fine but a cylinder that could be matched was better...

Jal5 . Just for information's sake 11 gr of Unique circa 1968/9 lot out of an 1895 G @ 18" non ported was under 1000 fps with a paper patched 350 and a 405 . Which puts them down neck and neck with a 16" 45 Colts carbine . Again information only .

I have 225-55 NOE which drops at 62 gr . I drive it 2050 fps and get groups on par with most of the other FMJ I've shot . 16" carbine gas . It takes 15kpsi to function the AR at GI STD . 20 gr of H322 gets it done for me in the 1-8. I get 2620...

Had a Marlin 1894CB 18" 38/357 . I was lucky with it as it would share brass with the 6" Sec 6 . The most impressive part was that virtually without regard to load it picked up 400 fps with assorted 158 cast and 140 XTP . H110 didn't make me happy...

Harter66 started a thread Giving Thanks in Our Town
I've been reflecting on Giving Thanks the last day or so , not that I'm not thankful for every day , but more about my historically misplaced thanks . In my youth I was always thankful for the family and friends and of course the grub . That time...

I'm reminded of a guy we ran across one deer season . " Pre 64' model 70 , 270 , $1200 in glass on top . I shot that doe at 80 yd 3 times and had to finish her with the Kimber carry 45 ." All the while I was thinking I killed the last 2 with a...

If you want to know what my real dig is with scope cost , I'll tell you . It is that a fixed power , 2 knob , duplex retical , scope is virtually missing from the market and it costs as much as the 4 turret super do all . There are like 3 makers...
