I don't have a Contender . I do have a 1 off rifle in 76.8 . When or if I get back to it I will most likely recut it to 7-30AI Rimless . With that said , the only downside of the 6.8 SPC is the lack of heavy .270 moulds . I do shoot 2 other...

If I were to do it I might spend the extra buck for money paper . The ideal of course is for all of the evidence that has to or might be dropped or lost at the scene or anywhere near it or connected to you to be so impossibly generic that it could...

I guess we just get weary . I try to remind folks that Elmer used 16-1 for what eventually became the 44 mag .

I the 2 I've had were quite smooth . An 84-86' and a 2013 . Both built on Magnum designated actions . The early one has a barrel band sight and forward magazine support . The later one had a barrel band and dovetails . Both are .444.450+ . ...

Use a Savage . Choose a cartridge like the 6.8 SPCII . Form 10 cases from 22 NOS . Install a 223 bolt head . Cast 1# of one time alloy with isolated alternative source metal bullets . Use 1 sheet of random source paper . Dry wrap in tight nitrile...

I stumble over an older thread . When that happens I'm reminded by what a great place this has been . It was a place where the old school knowledge of how to pour great boolits every time met the new school stepping stones to do more and more ,...

I tinkered a lot to find an alloy that would hold the speed and pressures for a couple of small caliber cartridges and still expand without breaking up . 30 cal , 200 gr 197-199 remaining .610 dia , impact speed in powdered dg clay approximately...

Don't forget the Win 9410 . I'd bet that it could be rifled and fed some slow ,low pressure powders . At worst it could be broach rifled through the choke . Cast bullet gun right ? Green Mountain sells a lever gun 45 ACP (this means .451-2 1-16...

I don't remember the load now . I do know it was proportioned for 45 Colts . That's a 45 cal maxi ball in the 303 Britt brass straightened out for a 410 . It wasn't accurate for beans but the cheap 45/410 single shot pistol had scratches for...

Thanks thats a great chart ! The older post suggested some recent wildcats like a 465/500 NE but also for a paper patched paper cartridge . I think I'll knock it down to .460 for the 45-70 but I have a friend with an 11mm Chessipot too .

Bought this "pig in a poke" , who doesn't need 8-9 moulds per cal cartridge . I figured if I get the throat shot out in the 45-70 Remlin this will fill it up . I searched and came up with a single post from 5 yr ago that had some...
