That don't look to bad. There are four dies. In pic #6 it show a close up of the tope of the press showing the turret and dies. The die in front over the shell holder is the expander die. The one to the right is the decapping die. The one at the...

44magLeo replied to a thread Lyman Spartan in Reloading Equipment
As others have said the Spartan is a good press. Getting another press to go along with it is not a bad idea. I don't think your Spartan will be jealous of another press, Might even be glad to have some help. A press with compound leverage will make...

Very Clever. I can't watch videos, to slow an internet connection. So maybe the primers are directed into a container of some sort. If not I might try to build something that would. Perhaps you could turn this mod into a service for those out there...

Just Guess here but the Tru-Line press uses two die sets for loading. The Die marked 280 is probably the size and expand die. Does it have a decapping rod in it? if so it has an expander button on it. The one with the 450 on it is probably the...

I have a Lyman 310 set for 44 S/M. They only neck size. On R-P 44M brass they size to an ID of .428. Easy to adjust to however far down the case you want to size to. The expander is .429. This leaves an ID of .429. I'm not a machinist but I think...

I got the parts to assemble a shooting camera like Steelshooter built. I didn't get the exact same items as Steelshooter listed. Couldn't find most of them on Amazon. I got most of the stuff on Ebay. I just searched using the specs of the parts,...

44magLeo replied to a thread 38-40 Marlin ideas? in Leverguns
Perhaps some of the people that suggest good boolits in their rifle could send 50 or so to you to try. Then if they work, buy a mold . Leo

44magLeo replied to a thread new to me marlin 1894. in Leverguns
I got my 1894 in 44 Mag in 1978. My first mold was the Lyman 429421. It worked well in my rifle and my Ruger SBH. With wheel weights the mold threw them out at about .432 and 265 grs. Shot them as cast. Lubed by hand with several stick lubes....

Howdy, Maybe some of you know this but Henry has a new line of lever action rifles out. The Long Ranger. MRSP of $1066, probably a bit less in the stores. They are chambered in 223/5.56 NATO, 243 Win, 308 Win and 6.5 Creedmoor. They have a 6...

I don't know how to do links. If you look at top of the page you will find a row of headings. Click the Casting and Reloading, scroll down to Casting Equipment. Click it. In the stickies look for threads with PID in the title. I built mine in an...

Why not build a PID controller? It will keeps temps so much more accurately than the stock thermostat ever could. Not hard to do. Leo

Depends on how they look. If they look fairly clean, I would throw them in the pot, flux well, cast. If not then do it the hard way. Leo
