That seems to be the most likely cause. I didn't notice any extra effort required to seat the primer but I could have completely missed it when the darn thing went off. I think I've got some IMI brass in 7.62mm but it is stamped IMI. I've...

The primer that fired had an imprint of what looked like the point of the anvil pushed out. The anvil seemed to be set further into the cup than normal. Don't know if that happened when it fired or not. I have a wet tumbler but have not used it...

Was loading .45ACP on the Dillon 550 yesterday. I had completed about 130 rounds when a primer went off when seating. After checking to be sure I hadn't embarrassed myself, I checked the case in station 1. I expected to find 2 primers, one in the...

I have purchased several used die sets with steel size dies for revolver cartridges. I have a few custom revolvers with tight chambers. I found in one case that carbide die oversized the brass and led to short life of the brass. Another revolver...

For my first air gun I got a Weihrauch HW95 package(w/scope). The only drawback is that I failed to recognize that it took a bit more effort to cock it. After a few sessions close together, I ended up with "Weihrauch elbow". After that healed, I...

Still haven't received the part I need for the small primer setup so I tried the JMorris solution. Worked like a charm. Switching back to small primers won't be a big deal now.

Our neighborhood is overrun with squirrels. They have chewed the plastic tops on my stepladders hanging on the back of the shop. They chewed the back corners of the shop(rough sawn cedar). I had about a half dozen 1.5# lead ingots holding a piece...

I used the method as instructed by Dillon when I phoned. Worked perfectly. Only problem is that the tube that feeds the primer into the cup got damaged. Actually the yellow plastic end. For those who have ordered parts from Dillon, about how...

Used my C&R to buy a Tokarev for my political science/history college professor son from Empire Arms. Vendor described it as "Excellent Plus" condition. Based on other arms I have purchased from him, the description is spot on.

t seems like everytime any mention of Alox in reference to bullet lube, that any and all Alox is lumped under "Alox". The two products that have been used as lube in sizers are Alox 2138f and Alox 350. Lar45 explained it well in his posts. The...

I bought my 550B used and, until now, have only had to switch out primer setups. The other day I had to do a full teardown of the priming parts and have run into a problem. The original spring under the primer cup was rusty so I decided to replace...

Several years ago, Junior1942, wrote up a procedure for calculating the volume density of powders. I've got it printed out somewhere but don't have time to look for it right now. Also, I think I remember the list that others have mentioned from...

Strange weather here in West Tennessee. It gets down in the mid 60's at night and we need a blanket. Days it gets up to high 80's to low 90's. I much prefer warm weather, just not the hot weather we know is coming. I can do without the 100 plus...

I finally had to give up on the above link. On their website, I used the toll free number and it took me to an offer for a medical alert device. Next I tried a number I found on their home page and after about 10 rings, I gave up. I'm taking...

I bought my 475 Linebaugh used but unfired and it came with RCBS dies. The size die was steel, not carbide. I prefer this as it does not work the brass as much. This is not a gun that will use a lot of ammunition so lubing and sizing is not a...

So do I, especially those that I plan to tumble lube. I have no proof that the frosted surface holds the lube better but it makes sense to me. I just leave the PID set on 725. Sometimes I get frosting, sometimes I don't.
