I hope it is OK to sort of hijack my thread. In going thru one bucket, I found about 3 dozen or so Federal +P brass. Is there any real difference between these and regular .45 ACP brass? My first thought was that the head stamp was only to...

I don't know how many here are collectors of Military Surplus arms but the list I received this morning represents some really nice Finnish Mosins and Us military rifles. I would like to have another Finnish Mosin Nagant, but most of these are a...

Good to hear the responses to the OP. My Single Seven throats measure .315 also when checked with plug gauges. I've been meaning to try powder coat to get cast boolits to at least .314. I shouldn't worry about it because, as cwlongshot said, most...

I would guess that, based on appearance, that they were not recently manufactured. By that I mean in the last 5 years. On a slightly different note, I found one case that the head stamp was WIN NT and the flash hole was 5/64", same as standard...

I think I'm going to throw these three in the scrap brass bucket and move on. There may be more in the buckets that I've processed but, since I don't load to max, if there are a few in the mix, it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the quick...

I've been processing some .45 ACP brass that I've accumulated. Some of it has been in the shop for years. I've been doing this single stage and semi-inspecting it at the same time. I don't look closely at every one, maybe every 8-10. Today I ran...

Thanks, toallmy, for the information. I've got a new Dan Wesson in 1911 style to go with several other 1911's. I've also got a 8 lb jugs of Red Dot and Promo. Since my older son also has a 1911, I've been looking for loads to use these powders. ...

Well said, Facetious. The only way to invest is to do as you said. "Think ten years from now". I doubt that any one in management at CalPers is panicking. They wouldn't have the jobs they have if they lost their heads every time the market hit...

A friend an I went halves on a 550b quite a few years ago. I didn't have a place for it so it was set up in his shop. I hardly used it because it was so inconvenient to go there to reload. He lost interest so I bought his half and by this time I...

I've got a T7 and have been using it to process .45ACP brass for the last few days. The tube extends down into a large peanut butter jar. I've got the jar setting on a box that keeps the top of the jar at a height where the tube is still in the...

The throats on my Single Seven are .315" The barrel slugs at .312" IIRC. So far have only shot jacketed. I'm hoping to PC boolits to at least .314". Too many projects right now. Probably should have never bought the Single Seven.

This comes up periodically. I asked the same question many years ago. I was directed to an illustrated parts list. I don't remember where it was but it showed the same thing that has been posted above.

I got a handgun from a dealer on GunBroker a few weeks ago. I didn't say won because it was a "buy it now" situation. I'm sure I paid a little more but the free shipping and no credit card fee were advantageous to me. Those 2 things were worth...

Sorry! I didn't read the post correctly. Is it correct that the only molds that didn't run are BB NLG? I ordered a flat base NLG. Would it be better to just cancel and make do with the mold from the original GB with lube groove.? I'm not in a...

I know this is primarily about breaking in rifle barrels but thought I would throw this out. I just acquired a new Dan Wesson 1911. In the instruction book that came with it, they recommended that break-in be done with hardball. I don't think I'm...
