Thanks! I'll stick with the solid. I've got several of Miha's HP molds although not in that weight. I'm just looking for something to play with heavy weight boolits in .454 and 5 shot .45's.

I'm with Houndog. I used to buy surplus powder from Widener's and I bought my Schmidt-Rubin K11 also. I was really disappointed when the company was sold and completely changed.

The tip about crystal cat litter shows up periodically. After reading one of those tips several years ago, I went to one of the local chain pet stores to try to find some. I found a 15 lb bucket on the shelf priced about $15(I think! It was more...

Check my post #34. I still want a mold. I prefer the brass blocks and no HP pins. As I said, if that is a problem, I'll take a hollow point mold but will probably only use the pins that give me a solid. I don't hunt so hollow points are...

Thanks for the information so far. I've bookmarked the referenced threads/sites. I don't want to discourage anyone that has more information because I'm in new territory with this powder. BTW, I've ordered some Remington large rifle mag primers...

I just purchased some LC .30-06 brass to go with some I already had. I would like to start shooting my milsurps using what I have on hand. I plan to start out with NOE 3XX299 boolits, size depending on how the rifles bores and throats slug out. ...

OK! I'm interested in a digital scale. I've seen many posts that condemn them and many in this thread that indicate they are the only thing to use. Obviously, there are scales and then there are scales the really work. Name some that really...

One time I ordered a firearm from him and because I was rarely at home when UPS tried to deliver, I asked that the package be held for pickup at the UPS distribution facility. Once tracking said it was at that facility, I drove over and picked it...

Surprised to see a thread I started asking some of the same questions referenced here. Practically everything I know about reloading the Argentine Mauser is in that thread. As far as dies, as I said in my original post, I acquired both a set of...

That gets posted on various forums about 4-5 times a year. It is good information that I had forgotten about. If heating doesn't work, I'll try to find a small bottle of acetone. Several years ago you could borrow swmbo's bottle of fingernail...

I have a SAECO mold that looks very much like the H&G 130. The box says it is a 130 and the sprue plate says 130 but the blocks don't have any ID. This mold drops at almost 200 gr. instead of 185 gr. I don't think a difference in alloy could make...

Heat is the only thing recommended that I haven't tried yet. I'll find some time this afternoon to try that. I don't have a soldering gun but I do have a 60W pencil. If that doesn't work, I can try the 250W iron. I might add that when I first...

I've got 8 two tube fluorescent fixtures in my 14X20 shop/reloading/casting shop too, but they don't eliminate shadows. I guess I will try the KMS Squared UFO light system. I liked the Lite Tech system because of the one light that fit the center...

I've got 3 HP RPN calculators incl. the HP12C that I also got in the early 1990's. I've got a HP42S that mostly won't turn on. If I can get it turned on, it will do most of the functions. I wish I could find someone to repair it. The third one...
