I use Ed's Red or similar home made cleaner. As far as rust preventive, my location in Tennessee is not as likely to rust as coastal regions and more likely than the western desert. Since our older son is a pharmacist, I get those little desiccant...

I've got 6 of those muffin pans that I bought many years ago at a Cabela's outlet somewhere in Nebraska. We stopped on our way to Yellowstone and I recognized that they would be ideal ingot molds. I think that I paid about $5 or $6 each. My wife...

That's all well and good except for those of us who are not skilled machinists or computer savvy. We are stuck with paying "outrageous" prices or taking a chance on BadAce Tactical mount. For now I think I will stick with open sights and larger...

Are you saying you might have some for sale once you get the program working? I have no idea what you are talking about when you describe the software. I do have a couple of K31's and would like to put a scope on one of them. I haven't looked at...

Interesting thread! I have a different take on the .30-06. I have 4 rifles chambered for the -06. I chose the rifle instead of the cartridge. All are military surplus. A M1 Garand, 1903A3 Springfield, 1917 Enfield and a Colombian Madson, the...

Christmas before last I gave our older son a Marlin 30AW that was extra to me. Since then he has bought an non-working farm and wants to put a scope on it. I don't have much experience with scopes so I couldn't give him specific advice. He wants...

All these responses have some good thoughts behind them. The OP seems like one who will make thoughtful choices. My only advice is to make sure you remain focused on your young family. Include your children in your interests. They will grow up...

Paco Kelly wrote about the .375W and the Speer 235 gr bullet. He recommended a load and flattening the tip for the tubular magazine. I've got some of the Speer bullets but have never tried them in my M94BB. I've also got a box of 38-55 ammo that...

Mine was delivered yesterday. Won't have time to run Autotune for a few days. Also had to let the cords warm up. It was cold setting in my garage until I discovered it had been delivered. Those cords get real stiff. Don't know how people in...

I've been going thru my molds looking for something to try in the Browning 92 w/1:38 barrel. I found 4 molds that might work if they drop big enough. RCBS 44-250-K, RCBS 44-250-SWC, RCBS 44-240-SWC and SAECO #442(246 gr. RN). The 3 RCBS molds...

Going through the book reminded me that there are several burn rate charts on the internet. The easiest one to "use" for me is the one printed in Handloader #317 (Dec). I only use loads from manuals or individuals that post beginning to mid-range...

Hatch, I have another maker's PID that according to him would work with either 110v or 220 v. Since my Pro Melt is 220v, I fabricated two cords to accommodate either voltage. Does yours work the same way? It's no big deal if I order another...

I've only got one air rifle and the blob on the end of the barrel is NOT a suppressor. Since it is a break barrel, it gives me something to hang on to while cocking. I'm not sure what other purpose it has.
