I have a quart of AMZOIL automatic transmission fluid I've had for YEARS. Toothpic into the fluid, and the SMALL drop goes onto the sprue plate screw area. Lasts a long time and works good. Just be sure to use just a little bit so it does not...

After a casting session, I let the moulds cool completely, then give them a good spray of RemOil (get it on sale at Wally World), then store them in a 20mm ammo box. Next use, good spray with brake cleaner and they are good to go.

From my experience with making aluminum gas checks (which I have had NO problems) if the gas check is loose on the bottom of the boolit, you need to use a thicker aluminum stock for making them. I have seen a lot of discussion, not nothing on the...

I drained my pot good, then removed the control rod, liberal coat of fine valve grinding compound, put control rod back and did a basic valve seating job. No drips now.

I use a strange way to lubed my brass. Layer of waxed paper, then a folded paper towel. Spray with Lyman spray case lube and let it set for 1/2 hr or so to have the liquid (you know, the stuff that puts dings in the shoulder when you size)...

1_Ogre replied to a thread Tumbler Media? in Reloading Equipment
For Walnut media, the best buy I've found is at Harbor Freight. 25lb bag for like $22. Throw a little NuFinish in and it gives the brass a nice coat to retard any tarnishing. This is all done AFTER a good 3hr bath in the pin tumbler (1/4tsp...

Best way I've found to pre-heat a mould is when you fire off your pot, set the mould(s) on the rim of the pot. By the time the lead's melted, the moulds will be pretty much up to temp. Only been doing it like that for decades, and it works

Jeff: Yeu used way to much of each. You only need 3-4 "DROPS" of Dawn and 1/4 tsp of LemiShine. Doesn't sound like much but too much Dawn will leave residue that's not fun to get off. When I fill my container, I fill it to about 1" below the top,...

I have used CCI primers exclusively, never had a problem that wasn't "MY" fault. ALL of my brass goes through the Dillon Super Swager before the primer box is even opened. NEVER had a problem so far, and I've been loading since the 60's

NYFirefighter357 put me onto the Frankfort pin tumbler. It may take a little more time and effort, but you end up with brass that looks like new Starline Brass, and that makes me HAPPY. The brass is even shiney INSIDE lol. Good investment

I just use the Dillon Super Swager. Does a good job, never messed one up yet, and I've run literally thousands of Mil crimped brass through it. I don't even check if it's Mil or not anymore, just run them through. Most of even the commercial brass I...

For rifle rounds, I use the RCBS ChargeMaster. Not always right on the dot, but just dump the powder back into the hopper and do it again till it comes out right. For handguns, I have the Dillon SDB, and it's usually within 1/10th of a grain. Rifles...

With mil brass, eg; LC, I have the Dillon Super Swager to unify the primer pockets. This usually removes that little ridge. I do have some Mil brass from Argentina that has a BIG RIDGE around the primer pocket. I've been told to use a 45det reamer,...
