I'll add my welcome also. From what I see on your initial post, there is not going to be any need to give you any training as you already seem to have a good start. You will greatly enjoy the camaraderie here from like minded folks.

My meat grinder is nothing fancy and I don't recall where I got it or how much it cost. I have used it several years and usually bone the deer all out and grind everything on the deer with exception of the back straps and tenderloins. I do one or...

birddog1520 I am so glad your wife has progressed from her past health problems. I pray that she has no more issues like that. Also congratulations on your cast boolit 30-06 deer. Sounds like your TC frame is no stranger to deer kills. I also like...

Ron you have been busy making your "medicine ball boolits". Lots of potential meat for the freezer in those buckets! Nice job and I look forward to hearing the stories about the many hunts and game that they bring to the pot.

I'm also on the list to congratulate you on a fine hunt with a very successful ending. I see you have done your homework in choosing the right rifle and the right cartridge for putting the brakes on anything that walks in North America. The add-ons...

Well here it is way past my bedtime , and I have read every post on these 5 pages and I still don't know which deer rifle is best. Guess I'll go to bed and check in again tomorrow.

Sounds like a fun project. I have a .36 Seneca as well. The stock is a bit on the slim side for the .45 caliber recoil. I understand replacement stocks are almost unobtainable. So handle with care. We will need to see some pictures along the way...

John, your question about destroying the markings on the barrel during the filing work is a good one and I suppose it is always a possibility. However pietro has stated the practical answer to the question is the depth of material removed in the...

Post 12 perfectly answered the draw filing question. I found it best to keep the barrel's corners crisp and well defined to wrap the crocus cloth around the file for the smoothing operation. The quality of the blue job depends on the quality of the...
