I have two Izhevsks, and they both need .315”. I use the 316299 by NOE as my “big slug” for the Mosins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Boolseye replied to a thread cast for .357 SIG in Cast Boolits
I think I will refrain from advocating or discouraging a particular load that I have not tested or seen, what I will say is that a safe amount of Unique under either of these slugs, in this caliber, will have a good burn rate for their intended...

The Lee 358-158 RF and NOE Elko 358-155 both work fine in the 357 SIG, right up to full house loads. I have loaded both myself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You will be able to use a variety of powders to go from mild to wild, as desired. Pistol powders such as red dot and bullseye can be used for mild loads, with charges anywhere from 3 to 7 grains or so (no filler). Fast rifle powders such as RL 7 and...

There is more than one way to skin this cat. I use my drill press, cheap cut-off wheels on a small mandrel and a simple set-up in the vice to hold the case. Prepare the case as normal. Annealing is optional, a drill on low and a torch does the job....

Boolseye replied to a thread 223 Cast loads in Cast Boolits
I recall doing some testing with 700x and hornet boolits (Lyman 225438). I used from 6-7 grains of 700x to get from 1900-2200 fps, 8 grains of Unique gave me about 2300 fps. Very low recoil with the little 44 grain pill. I believe that was out of...

I lube with 45-45-10 prior to sizing and gas checks. .001” over groove works well for me, a little bigger does no harm. Final lube is done in a pan with a homemade concoction similar to WWV lube. I’m sure Alox or 45-45-10 alone will be fine. ...

Recently dipper-cast a small batch of 155 gr. HPs for my 10mm and 40 s&w. Loading with #5. Serious water bottle medicine. Reload and cast in my basement which is a nice place to be on hot days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I use the NOE version of that boolit, which is basically the RCBS 55-225 RF. Nothing could be easier than meeting your goals as laid out. You can cast to 12-15 Bhn, use a pistol powder or a fast rifle powder as desired. Red Dot, 700x, Rl #7, 4895,...

I like to run them a little slow, 1800-2000 fps, just enough to cycle a carbine. 12-15 Bhn with a gas check is fine for this. I will make sure they're a little harder if I'm pushing them above 2200 fps, at least 15 Bhn for those speeds. I run...
