You know I never kept count. We cast for the PD with 2 H and G gang moulds and ran through 40-50 pounds of lead at a session, usually with one casting and one size and lube with a star outfit. Had the moulds hung by springs from the ceiling of the...

Ok I missed that they are powder coated, try heat treating them. It seems strange that only one out of every five does it though, but with mine as a lube problem it was the 5th shot always not random.

I am going to say it's your lube at that speed. I had something very similar going on with my home brewed lube and the 7.62x54r, multiple groups on same target, 5th shot out every single time. I tried adding ATF helped, then paraffin and fliers went...

Interesting colored wood, I can see a bit of striping in the butt. Looks as if stock has been refinished though? The one pictured on the Wiki link is just fantastic, tiger striped stem to stern!

Start by reading Army of Marksman by Douglas McChristian it will tell you all about gallery loads in the beginning, then substitute trail boss for black if you don't want smoke.

I regularly use an Ideal and a Winchester tool from the 1880's for demonstrations and camp fire reloading. No problems yet. I have a tong tool I bought used in 1968 and it is still going strong use it with the decapper for wax loads every week.

I have an Argentine that was converted years ago and was used as a match rifle for years. It will stand any load the loading manuals suggest for a 40-65. This one is shot with a 330 grain bullet pushed at 1400 fps or so. The Swede is a good steel...

That does not sound like duplicating unless you have made a sample stock just like you want it. Sounds like you want a custom stock. Now as to the blank you need to make sure it will make a stock. So many folks come in with a hunk of walnut uncle...

You could try some 5-7 shot groups, maybe even more rounds would give a better picture. I see a typo in your data though you forgot the C in BL-C (2) or lot# 2 however your canister is marked. Have fun and enjoy, even if you are using those danged...

That is one strange looking piece of brass! I made a belted rimless rifle cartridge casing a couple of times, not on purpose though. Glad the casing didn't let go and nothing/nobody got hurt.

I think I shaved a few ounces off by changing out scopes, the Burris seems lighter than the Bushnell. The weight doesn't really bother too much unless gaining elevation, going from 3500 to 6500 every ounce counts, setting in the safe none of my...

I gave Remington the ax several years back, I kept a Black Diamond Nylon 66 and my my Model 11 26" ImpCyl barreled 12 ga. I just didn't trust them in the safe with my other rifles, bad influence you know!

New paint nutmeg with black webbing and 2 coats of clear matte. While I was at it I bought a Burris Fullfield II Ballistic Plex scope and a set of Leupold rings. Now all I have to do is get out and sight it in!

I remember these and Ranger Rick, pretty sure someone at Accurate Reloading Forum was shooting these out of the Lott at 1900 fps, seems like H335 or AA 2230 powder was used.

Read the scots hunters accounts. Gore gave Bridger a nice double rifle. The American hunters preferred a big bore St Louis style rifle in the 30-50's.

The old time cure was a lead shot under the magazine tube screw and then tighten it down. This wont work with some Uberti guns as they have no screw.

At least it shoots... the three we got in the shop one time would not fire the hammer would not hit the firing pin hard enough to set off a 22. We will not sell them.
