That does sound like a weak spring, try stretching it. I would think about any 98 mag spring would work, your FR8 was developed from the M43. You might check to see that the cartridge is starting up under the extractor, it should not come out from...

I think I'll pass too! The only safety worse is the older Rem M11 inside the front of trigger guard, even the Stevens/savage 320 pump had the safety in front of the trigger guard not rear, I want mine under my thumb.

Wow, I guess I do have a 'system.' Like others, plastic coffee containers for pistol. Each can hold 500 rounds, in 50 round ziploc baggies, and a printout of date/boolit/powder. Some are in fold up 50 round cardboard boxes, reminiscent of WWII 45...

I bought a set of the Pachmayr gunsmith screw drivers years ago, they are better than hardware screw drivers, but not much. I would say the hardening was inconsistent with bit tips breaking off while others bent. I replaced them with the small set...

I think you are on to something there. Sometimes emptying the pot and giving it a good scrubbing does wonders, I use a ss cup brush in a drill, do it outside and wear a mask and nitrile gloves. What looks like a clean pot can yield a tablespoon full...

What I see on the ball and nose of bullets are inclusions/ dirt/debris/dross, you need to flux really well. The flashing around the base usually can be prevented by keeping the base of the that pin lubed so the cavity halves close around it...

For several decades, my folks (now both 80) would visit Quartzite, Laughlin, and Yuma in their RV. There are thriving communities of folks who 'rendesvous' every year as though they were fur trappers. Some years ago, Dad ran into an old friend who...

In 1982, I bought my first house. My older brother and his wife gave me a weather station for the back yard. It was a painted sign with the image of a donkey that had a jute twine tail. The sign said 'if the tail is wagging, it is windy. If the tail...

I started shooting cast in a rifle about 8 years ago. First was Dad's 03-A3 sporterized 30-06. Results were good and I was following recommended loads in the Lyman 49. Then I started powder coating. I'm getting 2250 to 2450 FPS from several 308 Ws...

I use the lee 401-175 TC and seat without a crimp groove. If I had to, I could seat to where the cone begins. My Ruger OM Vaquero came with 2 cylinders and the other is 40 S&W. Shoots the same boolits, same velocity, that is unless I use loads from...

I haven't done a win 7 update in 2 years, nor have I had any problems. I run malware scan every couple of weeks which generally would find the ad-ware trying to creep in. Last winter, I started using Brave as my browser which stops a lot of ads and...

I load the 8mm Maximum to about 1800 fps, 252 grs checked and lubed, one shot at 50 yds on 1100 pound cow bison DRT. Shoot a deer in the left front shoulder and it will exit right rear ham, looks like they been harpooned with half inch rebar.

I'd buy it at that price. IMR SR 4759 a bulky powder that works well in reduced loads, maroon/plum colored can though not green, that's a different powder ends in a 6;-)

I don't buy a lot of canned good, I eat a lot of canned goods. Sure, I started 'canning' with jars as did many. I switched to metal cans a couple of decades ago. Sure you can't reuse them in the classic sense but I sure enjoy shooting them :) ...

A quick google search will get you plenty of images, further searching will get to how to make the concrete, be careful as you will also get plenty of hits on why moonshiners look for water from limestone deposits :)
