    Don't discount that the mainspring might be weak from age or use. A stronger spring might snap it closed better. That was the problem with my C96. Bulldogger

    I've read time and again that a .22lr shot right into the ear or the neck near the spine will kill or disable even larger animals. I think any of us who grew up in farm country has a story like that one about the farmer and an X on the forehead....

    Coconut oil might be worth trying. You could also get a small tub of Manteca from the grocery store, Manteca being Spanish for lard. Either would work. BDGR

    I have some casings on hand to do this myself, but haven't made the time yet. My son and I are excited to try it. I make bratwurst often, and have done smoked kielbasa. Want to add snack sticks to my list of accomplishments soon. BDGR

    I saw mention of your not being able to get inside the printed mag to smooth it out in effort to reduce hangups. What about Acetone? A cotton ball twisted in some stiff wire could be soaked with acetone and you could "paint" the interior smooth...
