Good contemplation...have to mull a bit, hmmmm....OK, Depends on the length of the chamber. I would use a profile that comes within .020" or so of the lands when fully seated in the neck...you could be looking at anything from 170~200...

Yep...sawdust in the pour pot is flirting with trouble...however when smelting I use it by the handful, even start out throwing a handful under the Pb before it melts. In the pour pot I like just the paraffin...the idea is to separate oxygen from...

There are a lot of older guys who love single action revolvers and lever action rifles for almost the same reason. Westerns were all the rage back in the 50's and 60's.

$360 is a great deal. T/C Encore and Contenders are significantly more money (almost 2x) and extra barrels for those things are $250-$300+. It looks like used Handi Rifles are going for over $300 on Gunbroker.

Yeah...sorta, but if what you describe was going on...that Pb that was stripped by the lands would look like a junkyard in there and the next subsequent rounds would iron it down to where it would be atrocious. A continuous depositing. In a case...

The quality looks like it matches the other models in Henry's center fire line. I am looking forward to handling and most likely buying one in 44 Mag.

I think the VN problem was solved by chroming the inside of the barrel and chamber. If I remember, they would seize up overnight from humidity and having a round in battery. Not sure...but think so.
