When you tumble do you leave media in with the buckshot or tumble just the buckshot ? Only sizes I cast are 0000 and 00000 , for those I’ve been rolling them between two blocks of flat metal .

Hey Don -- strange how those of us who live up north here are of like minds. Haven't posted in a year or so but never went away. Hope the corona stays away from you guys, we do have a case of it in Petoskey. Art

I’ve gotten older wads from folks before they’ve had sitting around usually where UV light can mess with them . And 95% of them I can still use with a little extra help when seating them in the hull . But the UV light is the main reason I leave them...

I've had very very good results with smoothbore guns shot from the bags with Foster slugs out to 50 yards . Sometimes even from double barrels . I have a Browning A-5 12 MAG with the smooth slugger barrel shots very nice groups at 50 same for...

I also generally leave shot in the bag even once I’ve cut the bag open . After I cut it open and use some I twist the bag and put a piece of wire around it like a twist tie .

I typically buy wads by the case of 5,000 so they’re in the factory case cardboard box . I generally leave them that way .

You’re missing the point . You’re using a 3 1/2” Hull and the thinner gas seal wad . I’m using a 2 7/8” Hull and the thicker base of the SP-10 . I put all the pellets I can in the hull using what I’ve got and it’s just as well since most all of my...

You’re using a longer hull than I am and I assume you’re using the thinner BPI gas seal wad versus the thicker base of the SP-10 wad that I use . I try and keep the payload between 1 1/4 - 1 3/4 ounces .

.395 balls do not stack you can’t get two in a layer but it works out I can get six in there with the petals removed . I like the mylar wrap and hopefully it cuts down a little on lead smears inside the barrel . I pretty much only use Remington...

I had a K-32 with K-80 wood and two K-32 O/U barrels one tubes for skeet other for trap doubles and I also had a K-80 unsingle barrel . I was doing the one gun for all thing thirty plus years ago . To be honest when I put the Monte Carlo K-80...

    In the 2 7/8” hulls I’m getting eight of the 0000 (.380) and six of the 00000 (.395) .

I’ve had some luck with 00 , 000 , 0000 (.380) and 00000 (.395) having killed deer with them all in 2 7/8” 10’s . I used to put the 00 and 000 in the SP-10 shotcup , but after getting the 0000 and 00000 to work without the petals and a mylar wrap...

I’ve got one of those vile things hanging in my loading room . I’d rather deal with the recoil than that uncomfortable thing .

I used to own a 338 Win Mag but never shot heavier than 210 grains . Also owned two of the Ithaca Mag 10’s and a Remington SP-10 . I think the Ithaca’s recoiled more then the Remington and I think with a 210 grain bullet the 338 was a skoosh less...

Shotgun patterns atleast for me open a different world . Everything you might read about chokes versus the size of buckshot ain’t necissarily so ! I’ve got some really tight choked 10 gauge doubles that pattern 00 , 000 , 0000 and 00000 size very...

The Krieghoff I used to shoot in trap and skeet matches got the firing pins and hammer springs replaced every year . I’d take the gun to a specialized gunsmith that kept Krieghoff Perazzi etc parts in stock . Usually he’d do it while I waited .

You said two seprate things here . Shooting patterns is just for supposedly seeing which quadrants get the greater percentage of shot , but it's really only good for the target shot . To do a definitive study on a gun-load you need to shoot a...

I've been looking at paradox/fully rifled SxS's for a long time . A 12 would be fine but if I could lay out the scheckels and get my preference most likely it'd be a 10 gauge . An 8 wouldn't be bad either but I've not seen many of them . Believe it...

We had a new K-20 in the shop three years ago a friend had helped get a friend's wife one so she could give it to his friend for Xmas . I don't remember if this set was 30 or 32 but I liked it . This thing was a middle grade K-20 . But it doesn't...

Look on Ebay the Rooskie bunch that make slug molds make one for the 28 gauge . They’re along the same design as the Lyman 525 sabot . I have them from the Rooskies for the 10 , 16 and 28 gauges .
