    I also use enamel spray paint even with three coats it gives a thinner coating then P C that allows long nosed bullets to chamber into rifling easier. Specifically the Lee 170 grain in 30-30.

    To test the limit i have wet coated some 55 grain lead cores (.185") and swaged them to .224 and loaded them in .223 the load would give a jacketed bullet over 3000 f/s . There was no leading but accuracy was terrible as my dies designed for using...

    If the price was good 50-3 1/4" Sharps but i really do not need any more then i have ! Same with much of what i shoot my lowest brass count is 300 Savage & .221 fireball i have been making Fireball from 5.56 and i just do not shoot the old Model...

    The other morning i went out just as the sky lightened to dispose of one of the coons tearing up my bird feeder there were several horned owls and some coyotes making all kinds of racket it was rather neat to hear and really creepy at the same time.

    IMR published data says 56.0 compressed IMR 4831, Win 405 gr SP, Win 8.5/120 primer , 2.550" OAL gives 1390 fps from 25" barrel at 17.8k CUP, if you use a 400 gr cast should be similar.

    I have done the same as long as the paint stays in place on the bullet you mash all is well . They will darken a bit with some colors and coatings . I saw a picture one guy put online his oven was so hot the bullets melted that was a bit to far . ...

    Plug the barrel just in front of the chamber, pour in enough cerrosafe to fill the separated casing, let it set 10 minutes and tap it out from muzzle.
