Good Cheer started a thread Nef .223 in Single Shot Guns
Having picked up NEF .223 for reboring to .41 mag, seeing as Henry said they're not in the line up... Well but, it's pristine, it's just never been used. Are these rascals good for cast and Hornet loads?

torpedoman, How big does the larger diameter portion of your boolit need to be? And how big of diameter the heel? There's bound to be something that's finagle-able to make it work!

dave951, I'm gonna use my molds with that adjustable base plug to try out heavier boolits. Some lubed, some paper patched. And if I ever get through with the shallow cupped design I might try out plain based. Your two band, is that a P58 or a...

Yo varsity, Different twists, different rifling patterns, different designs. I'm interested in hearing about others' experiences with heavy weight bullets, and heavy is a relative term because every rifled piece is gonna have it's opinion on what...

Good Cheer replied to a thread 44-40 +p? in Leverguns
Thirty years was talking about this with the owner of one of the wonderful gun smith / gun shops in the Houston area. A '92 Winchester 44-40 was his favorite deer hunting piece. He loaded it to suit the strength of the '92 action.

Good Cheer replied to a thread .50-70 in Black Powder Cartridge
If it's heavy enough and soft enough it probably will. Might need a gas dam behind it to help seal off, hard card or some such. About that over sized bore 45-70 years ago, the chamber just wouldn't take a boolit big enough to fit the barrel....

When buying a muzzleloader on the interseine I've received worse after being assured of how wonderful the piece was. All I can say is I paid my money and took my chances.

Some day I'm gonna get a .45-70 lever gun and try out this LBT mold. Going off of memory it dropped out at 270 grains. Guess I'll load it like a slightly fat .444.
