I got a surprise call last night, They moved my Mom out of the hospital to Rehab, that was suppose to happen today? I guess they had an opening and that they wouldn't be able to do the transfer today? I hope she was physically ready for the move?...

Back in the day I had great luck with the Lee 140 gr GCSWC in my Blackhawk. And the 358156 is also on my 'Great' list. Both GC designs, and accurate w/15 grs 2400 back then. I now recommend 14 grs for a max...

I bought a SAECO furnace and a box full of solder snippets from an old rummy LGS owner who was retiring. Took 'em home, and decided to check out the solder snippets (about 5 lbs worth). Good thing - I found about a half dozen small primers. Think...

yes, you can tumble lube Missouri Bullets in Alox as well as copper coated bullets. Alox is the smokiest common lube ingredient that I know of.

Oldbrowngun, Welcome to the forum. Alox is the cause of your smoke, but I've also heard that Unique does exacerbate smokiness, depending on the load, Unique starts to burn cleaner as the charge gets to a certain pressure range. If you choose to...

I don't worry about the crimp groove. Mostly I don't crimp, I will use the crimp die to remove the flair.

that may very well work, but I set COAL by trial and error, making dummy rounds, starting about as long as possible, then attempt to chamber the dummy, if it's no-go, which is usually the case, I keep trying shorter lengths, until I find the length...

" required" ...nope, but the amount of accuracy lost without one, makes it worth the cost and effort, IMHO. Here is a sticky on it. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?65035-Can-I-shoot-a-gas-check-design-with-out-the-gas-check

I haven't seen anything anywhere that they changed 44 Mag. If Remlin were to change the slow twist on their 44 Mag guns, I suspect several will be sold to castboolit shooters and we'd have a dozen threads about them.

You should email or call Al at NOE to ask the status. There is no average time for an item to be back in stock. If you contact him, so he knows you want to buy one, he "may" squeeze in a batch to replenish stock if he knows one is to be sold right...

What do you have in mind, Hunting or accuracy? A heavy 265gr is sure good for hog hunting, BUT... since those marlins have that slow twist rate (1:38), a lighter boolit will tend to fly more stable. Many have reported that boolits over 240gr when...

I would answer "maybe". There are too many variables to give a solid answer. pistol or rifle? BP or smokless? Lube recipe? What oil is used in the lube? percentage of oil content in lube? and lube grooves size

I hope you got my point about the experiment with "your" boolits. It doesn't matter what LaserCast or Rimrock bullets will do in your rifle, because they are NOT your boolits. But it did tell you that your rifle will function with a .454 sized...
