I bought some Range scrap from a member here, that batch is kind of soft, around 9 BHN. When I 'hand-pick' boolits off the ground at the Range, in front of the pistol Pit backstop, I usually get a hardness around 12 BHN.

If you haven't called CH4d, you might be surprised to hear they can probably be ordered. Before you call, be sure to know if you want series 101 or series 105.

Also, since we are talking about cutting/gathering firewood. I cut most of my firewood at a municipal compost site. The city will cut and drag whole trees from the boulevards or parks to the compost site and just leave them for people to cutup and...

I thought a Face cord is 1/3 of a full cord ? full cord = 4'x4'x8' face cord = 16"x4'x8' (as sold in MN). BTW, almost all sellers in MN advertise face cord (also nicknamed a fireplace cord) and the going rate is around $125

I use standard 1-lb ingots and try to keep the pot full. Keep a 'next' ingot on top of the pot to warm, and place and replace as needed, keeping a stack close by. One pound of 300 degree (guess) added to a 9 lb pot won't drop the temp...

I used a friends Lee 10-pounder to cast some boolits a couple of days ago, and didn't like the extreme flow rate - so I bent the back of the actuating rod to reduce the flow - several times, as a matter of fact. Finally got it down to a level I...

I would think it would be quite rare for a "mostly filled case do better" ...about the only time it would, is when you have a load of position sensitive powder where the load is less then 50% of case capacity.

It depends on the Hotplate, Most old ones are 1500W and it should be run on it's own circuit. Two Lee pots (6 amps each) will be fine having both on one circuit. That's my 2

MP 30-180 4-banger. Had some trouble with it, finally fixed it by reaming the back and front locator holes - it was sticking, keeping the mold from closing, and once closed, didn't like to open & had to be coaxed. AOK now, and turned out some dandy...

Just a heads up ...Be careful... if you decide to add a hotplate to your casting setup. Because a 16 gauge extension cord is a bit light to run both (Lee pot and a 1000+ watt hot plate), actually a 14 gauge is probably a bit light as well. My hot...

Yes to the Craftsman... Last month, a neighbor moved out, he had a pile of 'free' stuff by the curb. One item was a old craftsman table saw...I must have looked at it for an hour, but choose not to take it (I have too much stuff as it is)...and...

I don't recall exactly what OAL my Ruger 9e prefers when I use with the Lee 358-125-RF, but I do recall it wasn't at the crimp groove. Just assemble a some dummy rounds with various OAL and then do a plunk test with your gun, to find your OAL. ...
