The first time I cleaned my pot I was surprised to find grey powder under the lead. In spite of the powder being lighter, Surface Tension was holding it on the bottom of the pot. Stirring does not seem to eliminate the problem. I have also found...

It takes a big air compressor to run an air wrench without stopping to wait for the compressor to catch up. That Milwaukee 18v is more powerful than any air wrench I've owned and it hasn't run out of power in the middle of a job yet.

You are correct, I got the figure from the news, it was actually 2,750 Tons. Equal to 1,200 Tons of TNT. Estimated 10 to 15 Billion in damage.

I have the Milwaukee 1400 ftlb one, totally awesome but may be more than you need. It is heavy but beats almost all Air Wrenches for power and No Compressor. Bare tool was $225 at HD, kits are over $400 but I found a 5AH battery for $50 and had a...

No, this was regular ATF. I bought a small case (Mobile?/Costco) to share with the old 97 Subaru whatever ATF type that was. This was 6 years ago at least. I have no idea which types of ATF have those EP additives. I wonder what reaction I'd get...

2400 hasn't changed except lot to lot variation. I think it was Larry Gibson that tested this. I did get one very warm batch and working up with a new batch always makes sense. They even use the same lot numbers. There have been something like 1,000...

If you store it outside with the barrel opening down, put a cover over the bearings on the back of the yoke to keep rain out. Or store it opening up with a cover. Those bearings are a pain to replace.

Seems like I have a Devastator surplus so after sizing I loaded a few with 20g of 2400, Fed 150 and Starline Brass.

My 97 Outback had both. I looked for another one but only found high milers. I have more time now and am leaning toward something Toyota. If you live on a mountain it's east to get used to heated seats. Going uphill generates heat, downhill not...

2180 with a billet block and 4 webber's? I've gotten used to the heated seats. I need something comfortable enough to drive to Flagstaff with cruse control etc. And I don't think there was ever a cure for the VW valve stretch. I remember crawling...

I got my pellets at Midway. They shipped within 1 1/2 hours for free and it was here in 5 days flat UPS Ground. I bought air gun oil and a cheap soft case so I don't ruin the stock too. Amazon sells them too.

I agree. I had a 97 DOHC that I liked better. Had just finished a valve/head job when wildfire got it. Maybe I'm just tired of fixing up cars just to have them ruined. There is a guy in Seaside, North of here that has a full on Mad Max car. All...

First of all Thanks! The truck is a service body for work, weighs 9,600 lbs, and won't do the driveway after a good rain, too heavy. I won't turn the Subaru loose until I have a replacement for it. Tow trucks won't do my hill with anything in tow...

Yesterday wasn't going well so I stopped doing what wasn't working and fired up the pot. I cast 300 432640s with the MP 4 cavity brass mold. It's nicely broken in and after the first 3 casts it was perfect all the way through the pot. 700 degrees,...

I wouldn't have sold my 85 Tacoma had it been 4 wheel drive. Even with bed weights the 2 wheeler did not like this hill. I will hit Craigs List again. I wasn't thinking older, I had an 06 but easy to work on would be great. How are parts for older...

Yes. The wedge will slow as it penetrates and it helps to put the lead on a narrow steel block aligned with the wedge to give the 2 pieces a place to go.
