I found a stability calculator that showed the stability over a range of velocity in the form of a graph. It was interesting to see how the stability went south through the transonic range. Bullet shape was taken into account. This site took the...

Looking good! I roll my patched boolits on my lube pad with STP smoke stopper on it and seat. The STP soaks away and leaves the paper gripping the neck pretty well. Makes for easy tight seating. It does work best with printer paper but that...

For what it is worth, I now patch without a tail. Or I did when I last patched and will do so again soon. For me the only thing was to protect the boolit base from powder kernel peening. Harder allow and/or lower pressure solved that problem.

that makes sense as the 45 Colt is a fairly straight walled case with hardly any taper. in the '73' this should not be a problem as the lifter raises the next cartridge up flat and shoves it in the chamber in this straight line afair ... now the...

Thank you. My main goal is to put slugs on steel at 50 yards. I don't care and pinpoint accuracy 4-6" with a smooth bore is plenty good for my intended purpose. I have an "00" buckshot mold that I use for sling shot ammo I'd like to mess with...

I haven't. But thanks for the tip. But it still requires a mallet blow? I want to take it off and go with open sights. It's a short little bush gun, made for mud and rain. The scope was just for 'accuracy' testing.

The pressure will lock the case body onto the chamber wall and the case head will separate. Don't ask me how I know. (Never did find that case head).

Use your first trip as a scouting tourist vacation. After that you won't need to stop at the tourist things and you'll spent more time shooting.
