It seems I did good. This is the first 222/20ga I have seen in person. It is in very good shape. Bores clean and sharp. I am also a fan of the low fixed power scopes. It is no 1 on list of guns to take shooting next time. swamp

I think it is the model 4200. Have seen a couple and did not like the looks. I think the older ones look better and have better lines. swamp

It is a 20 ga. I am going to have to get some extension ring or try a different scope. The one on it sits too far forward for me. I have a 4x that might work. swamp

Picked up a Savage 24V today. Been looking for a single shot 222 Rem and this is as close as I got. In really nice condition and the scope is a Redfield 2.5. Pretty happy with it. Might have paid too much($500) but I haven't seen very many in 222....

It is now simply "2015". Originally 2015BR, it was changed to 2015XMR, and then the XMR dropped. Somewhere in there it was supposedly re formulated and production was moved between Chekoslovakia and Israel.

The type of cartridge has a lot to do with the cutting action. 45 ACP/ AR will cut tapered throats because of the rapid pressure curve. My 625 was .452 & now is roughly .454 down to .453. The EDM / polygonal rifling had a little rifling on top. ...

This is a Ruger single action thread, so I commented on no other brand. Not all stores restrict their patrons especially when they are accompanied by a Ruger rep. And Ruger's opinion on all this? "Ruger makes guns to shoot jacketed bullets." ...

Learn to be a better buyer. Ruger's biggest problem on single actions is getting the barrels screwed on straight. If they are installed crooked, then one portion of the barrel shoulder hits first leaving a gap on the opposite side. If they...

They is a wave washer on the pin that holds the handle in place. I thought it was standard. Never thought about the handle staying up. Maybe that is the solution for dropping handle. Hope this helps. swamp

I use the gallon paint can. 1/8 inch hole drilled in lid. when smoke stops I put a screw in the hole to lessen air getting in. Cut wood to length and split into sticks or saw into 1 inch cubes. swamp
