Get one at our local bicycle shop, lots cheaper. Get a couple inflation needles for balls, and cut off the first 1/8" or so to remove the side vent holes.

More specifically, for a 22. I have three 22's missing their magazines. One I have a sample magazine for. Even the ones I have five round magazines for need ten round mags. But let's start with a Voere magazine. I have no sample. This rifle...

I've dry balled so many times over the past 45 years, I figure I have saved at least ten pounds of powder. Funniest incident we had was at one of our spring shoots. One of the top shooters dryballed. Put some powder in under the nipple, pointed...

So I gave it bit of a bore cleaning. The muzzle end didn't look right so I cleaned it some more and shone a light in. Rust! In the muzzle end. Just surface rust but rust just the same. Well, I've done my best to just level the rust so as not to...

I have it in my hands! I had no idea it had a walnut stock! Someone did mention dense walnut stock but my other two have lightweight stocks so I was wondering about that. This is a nice piece of wood! I shouldered it and it fits me just...

Is there a reason for choosing a 25 degree shoulder? A sharper angle would prevent case elongation better but then you are specifying a low pressure loading. Anyway, I was going to suggest looking at the Taranah hornet but then I saw the case...

NZ$146 is about US$98-99. On one hand it's a fair price for an old rifle while on the other, it's a bargain for a gem. If it shoots laser beams then it would be an absolute bargain, if it shoots mediocre then not so much. So we'll see. I'm going...

I got it! Apparently I wanted it more than the other guy and set my autobid higher than his. Quite a bit higher actually so I got it at probably the right value @ NZ$146 - or was it worth more? Maybe, maybe not. I would have paid up NZ$200. ...

Well, it's fifteen minutes to auction closing and I am leading the bid. Last minute bidders have been known to come in and extend the auction so it's not a done deal yet and I may lose. So we'll wait and see. I'm going to clean that 511 barrel...

Thanks Texas. Being on pension now thanks to covid, I need to spend wisely but this rifle is screaming NZ$150 to $200. If I can get it (and I'll go as high as $200) I will build a rear peep for it. I suspect that someone else also wants it so...

I have a 511 which I actually bought for my late son. I've only fired it once and that didn't go well. Perhaps the bore needs to be cleaned or something. These 500 series rifles have a wonderful balance to them. Anyway, I'll be bidding on this...

Get rid of the Bore Butter patches. Horrible stuff. Try some different lube. It's not unusual for a barrel to take several hundred shots to break in. I did have one by Judge Resley years ago that just would not stop cutting patches, even after...

That will sit well atop of it. I have a couple of Ruger American Compacts (223, 308) and was thinking of Timney Triggers. The cheapest I have found them at is $AU440!!!!!! I might be doing a DIY job on them!

So there is this single shot Remington for sale in my parts. I identify it as a 510 Target Master. I'm interested in buying it, depending on the price it goes for on auction. Those can't be original sights. It's been drilled and...

I must confess that I stopped using Varget simply because it is visually indistinguishable from H4350 which I use for my hunting load in my No4 two-groove. Very accurate 180gr load. I'm going back to using Varget because I know it works so well...

I have a recovered paper patched boolit that still wears its paper jacket. The trick is to patch up to seat in an unsized neck. This should align the boolit with the throat and bore. Using the same load and patched boolits in another rifle, I got...

I've shipped over 150 muzzleloaders. All went double boxed, with bubble wrap and paper around the gun, bubble wrap around the inner box. Never had a problem. Depending on how far you ship in CONUS, cost used to run around $65-75 insured before I...

It's interesting how powders that won't burn fully at lower pressures in larger cases will burn just fine in smaller cases at even lower pressure. Just have a look at 30-30 load data. Using bulk fillers has the same effect but does raise pressure.

Hw does the 77/22 Hornet shoot smithnframe? They are one sweet looking rifle. I have a lovely VariX11 2-7 Leupold just screaming out for one of them.

Would you believe it even worked in my hornet? Admittedly, I did cheat a little. I duplexed it with H4227. Zero neck tension and 50gr bullet. It was accurate and pretty fast. How fast I don't know but it was flat shooting and worked well on...

From what I can gather, Varget has a fast ignition and medium burn rate. Hodgdon say it is easy igniting which supports that. I would imagine this translates into consistent ignition. Anyway, I've had good results with it.

Prices were actually pretty decent at our local show last weekend. I picked up a near pristine O3A3 for hundreds less than I expected. Another guy got a nice Kimber in unfired condition for $450.
