I generally used up shot so fast that I leave it in the tube on the press when loading trap loads. For hunting loads, I keep shot in the original bags. Wads in the original bags as well.

dverna replied to a thread Weigh check and sort? in Cast Boolits
Weighing pistol bullets is a waste of time unless you do a lot of long range shooting. Here is my data: .45 200 gr SWC - first run - ES 1.7 gr SD .49 gr .45 200 gr SWC - second run - ES 1.7 gr SD .53 gr 9mm 122 gr TC - ES 2.2 gr SD .49 gr...

Loading for four pistols and three lever action rifles. One rifle (1894) is chambered in .38 Spl and the rest are .357. Pistols are primarily used for target shooting. All are 5 or 5 1/2" barrels. I may carry one on the tractor for coyotes. ...

Love it. I normally buy by the case as well. Get free shipping that way most of the time. I like the 7P post too. I am a big believer is that. Difficult to understand how anyone can be short of ammunition and reloading supplies after our...

I would contact the ATF and get their input. But, it looks like since the gun in question would be a "Curio and Relic" that it can be done, but not simply by throwing it in checked baggage.

Might be wise contacting the US Embassy and the BATF.

The only testing I did with the Ransom Rest was with the .38 Spl. It was done decades ago. IIRC BB bullets grouped 1/2” larger at 50 yards out of a S&W M52. Bullets were cast from Linotype. One data point is not too meaningful. For pistol...

I am also a fan of the Martini. Enjoy your new gun!! I would prefer a slimmer barrel but find the caliber interesting. I admire your spunk to shoot cast. I would be looking for a suitable jacketed bullet...I am not a very good bullet caster.

If still have the pot I started with 45 years ago but immaterial...that was 45 years ago. I would do it differently IF I was starting now. I would get a Lee 20lb bottom pour. Add a PID and thermometer. Forget the lead shot and get some...

Tazman was one of the guys I listened to when we purchased two 686+ revolvers last year...Model 3-5-7 with 5" barrels. We have been very happy with both guns. Not the model you are looking at but no reason to think you would be disappointed. The...

It is a good policy to always wear glasses when shooting. None of the ranges I used to shoot at would allow someone without eye protection on the line. If you cannot afford shooting glasses, those cheap plastic things Harbor Freight sells are OK,...

dverna replied to a thread 550 happiness? in Reloading Equipment
The 550 is ok. I have two. The only downsides...does not auto index...cannot mount a powder check die unless you seat and crimp in one operation. But for most people who shoot less than 5000 rounds it is a good fit. The cheap caliber...

Sometimes you have to call a spade an implement for manually digging in the ground. I know what my boss called it when I was a young engineer and that would get me banned here. But the site owner is the boss so we work by his rules. BTW, it...
