That marlin can handle the much hotter “level 3” loads. For giggles I’ve loaded them hot with 296 and a 100gr XTP. For my old Marlin 1889 and Winny 92, I prefer the 115gr with 3.5gr Unique. A hoot to shoot and easy on those old girls.

Still do it in Georgia. Bay the hogs with dogs and then Juke em right behind the leg with a large blade and move the blade up and down. Never done it but seen it done by some “hillbilly” friends of mine.

well I kind of have to argue. An 8 inch bo is capable of pushing a 125 grain bt to 2200 fps. That's twice the velocity of the average 9mm shooting the same bullet. If you think there even close go and shoot some steel with both and see how much...

lots of competition in the high end scope category today. I would have to say if I had a used leupold id start at 25 percent below internet prices and might even have to be willing to go to a 1/3 less then new. If it were any other brand short of a...

my take on it is pc and gas check the hardest alloy you can make if you want to shoot 556 at full power. Id even consider water dropping the hardest alloy you have after you baked them.
