I like them both and I own a 460. I have spent time in remote Alaska but I don't consider myself anywhere close to be an expert on brown bear defense. To me the X-frames are just to big and heavy for every day carry. I have seen a couple of 8...

I have three Remington XP 100R's (.223, 260 Rem. and 35 Rem.). I would trade them for these in a heart beat. The M-lock hand guard makes a lot of sense not only for bipods but the various types of tripods. My .223 has killed thousands of prairie...

If you made it you should know what material it is made of? If it is medium or high carbon case hardening is not the appropriate hardening method.

And that is what it is all about and you are creating your own history with them. I have a couple of originals that have some documented actual "history" but that "history" is from people I didn't know and events I didn't participate in. ...

The first question is why are the screws soft? If they were manufactured that way chances are the carbon content is to low to heat treat. If that is the case the only option is case hardening with a product like Cherry Red. ...

Yes history matters to some of us. That is why I DO NOT use originals for things like SASS competition. Why take a piece of history wear it out? I have at least a dozen firearms manufactured between 1860 and 1920. I do my best to preserve them...
