If you are paper patching, you don't need gaschecks...I'm assuming you will be using an overpowder card and/or wad...if you are using blackpowder...

Just an update... I have been working with the woden flint, not as much as I should, but I'm trying to make it a habit... I have gathered a supply of roundballs to go with a lighter practice load... got a couple of set screws to replace my touchhole...

Tatume, I apologize to you sir...I had thought(incorrectly) you also used the Gould bullet and reduced it to .451... Guess a combination of "senior moment" and too many irons in the fire at the moment... TheMoose

Tatme, Thanks for quick comeback... How is the lubing on them when sized down to your finished size? Do you pan lube or lube-size with a die? Lube used? I've got the 400 grain covered with my 407gr PP RCBS 11mm cast from pure lead... but the...

I tried to get at this in another sub forum without much luck, so I'LL try here. I want a 330-350 gr bullet to shoot in my inlines and caplocks. I slugged a couple Knights and came up with .460(widest measurements from bottom of grease grooves) I...

I guess I didn't do a very good job of framing my question. I would like to buy a mold like the Gould that would fit my rifles using pure lead. The Gould was designed for the 45-70 and drops around .460" Think that would be too big in my .45's....

Thanks for response but I really want something like Gould bullet. Lyman Gould weighs 330+. I shoot s 407gr now that is paperpatched. I prefer to shoot this with a sabot only in 50 Cal, not 45.

Am wanting to get a 330-350 grain grease grooves hollow points mold using pure lead for a couple of .45 Knight inlines with 1:28 twist. I slugged each yesterday and they mic'd @.460-.461, but I don't have the tools or the brains to measure the...

Not familar with that mold Ron. Being on a fixed income, old and cheap (perhaps borderline "a brick short of a load"). I was trying to come up with something like "The Perfect Country Western Song"... thinking of something in .451 so that I could...
