I bought my lux (in 222) from my LGS, it was 3 or 4 years ago, I recall the price being around $650. I try to buy from my LGS as much as possible. The last gun I bought at cabela's was a plain savage axis (in 243), for $219, my local shop just...

30 years ago, I bought a New Braunfels Smoker without the side fire box. It looks exactly like the one below in the photo, but without the side firebox. It's made of pretty thick steel, at least 3/16" thick. I've replaced the fire/coal grates...

You betcha. I don't remember exactly what my half-o-bucket weighed...it was over 20 lbs. I was given a trade value of 80 per lb. He gets about 60 per lb for lead alloys.

I've noticed CCI primers to be a tad difficult to insert, when others brands fit perfectly. I generally keep some CCI primers on the shelf, even though I don't regularly use them...when I stumble onto a batch of brass that seemingly have slightly...

you will get better accuracy with a GC. Now "Better" may or may not be measurable with your application and shooting distance...whatever they are?

For about the first 6 months of my casting hobby, I dipped the corner of many molds into the melt. The mold never got hot enough, I would be hammering on the sprueplate to break the sprues off, til about the 10th pour or so. At that 6 month mark,...

You can't go wrong with either S&W or Ruger. "What length barrel should I consider since I walk 3-8 miles per trip ? " I would go with a 4" 29 for carry and a 7.5" SRH for shooting at the range.

I've never seen nothin like that before. I bet it'd work good in loose sand. I move a lot of firewood with a wheel barrow...a traditional 6 cf is ideal for my use. I have a real old one with a steel wheel that's about 1" wide...it works fine if I...

1/4" Alum will work real well. For my antique Ideal #1 lubesizer, that only has a clamp-on style mount, I only have enough room for 1/8" metal, I use a scrap piece of copper. that thin copper transfers heat just fine.

My last batch of 9mm range brass that I bought, then processed, then sorted, I found about 100 (out of a box of 3000), that looked like they were reloaded HOT, and probably more than once. I use a Lee 9mm carbide size die, The few of those HOT ones...

As a castbooliteer, the 41 holds advantages over the 44. Manufacturers make all the 41 guns to the same/similar specs, but the 44 has it's quirks with separate and different SAAMI specs for Rifle and pistol...add to that, some foreign manufacturers...

as Drm50 stated, Taurus revolvers don't hold their value. While he priced it at half of S&W, I wouldn't be as charitable, I'd say half of current Taurus retail. http://www.cabelas.com/product/TAURUS-TRACKER-REVOLVERS/2047320.uts $599 at...
