I "prefer" Lyman for Lyman and Saeco for Saeco But I have also successfully modified Lee handles to work for both, and those worked fine

If you can detect any measurable difference from a boolit freshly dropped from the mold (after it's cooled enough to do so), to a week old boolit...Let us know. I never noticed any change in size from aging, until you get to plenty of age, like a...

I am not allowed to discuss the reasons for actions of the Staff. Leaving this thread open was after a staff discussion. The deal that is mentioned in the OP, was initiated and conducted via email, and NOT here in the S&S section. John Ross is...

Thanks for posting that link, I see it is clearly copyrighted. when I made my post, I was considering a GB or something on those lines.

Add more tin. Before you ask how much tin to add, even if you stated what mold manufacturer and what weight you are getting now with straight COWW, I still wouldn't have an answer for you. What I'd do is start by adding 1% tin, then cast some. ...

If a lead alloy is ingotized by someone not-in-the-biz and doesn't have test data to show what it is, then it is scrap Lead. If you have clues as to what the alloy is and you can confirm your hunch with pencils, then it's worth a bit more than...

If you ask 100 lube makers, you will get 100 recipe variations. 666+1 is just the Old NRA formula with a bit of soap to raise the melt temp to work better in heat. BP: Some will use petroleum ingredients in their lube, maybe give 666+1 a try...

In 2015, I sold a custom T-38 rifle in 6.5x257R at auction...it went real cheap. I missed it so bad, I found the buyer a year later and bought it back...it wasn't real cheap to buy back. There is lots more to this story...but this is all I'm...

I agree with those that stated you need a shorter OAL. I always make some dummy rounds when I'm loading ammo for a new gun. I will cycle the dummy rounds many times.

Reloading press Adaptor die for Lyman/RCBS sizing dies: I recall someone using the die body of a Lee collect style FCD...it may need to be reamed/honed out a bit? you'd still want some longer punches. I would have investigated this farther,...

do ya suppose that is copyrighted? That sure would make an excellent paper poster...or set of posters if there is too much content for one poster.

Patrick, Welcome to the forum. Shuz gave you some great advice...I have done that exact thing, ordering a inexpensive Lee 2 cav mold, just to try out a style to see if the gun likes it. I like the Lee 429-200-RF for Levergun...that'd be the...

I moved your thread to a more appropriate section. For revolver (one gun?), I set the OAL for the gun's throats, then work up a load. For semi-auto, plunk test for OAL, then work up a load.

My recommendation would be to Size first, then pan lube...much less messy. Also, I would lube the die with the same lube as in the pan, which can be easily done by running a prelubed boolit through the die every ten boolits or so.

The TL430-240 SWC Lee mold should drop a boolit measuring .430 https://leeprecision.com/6-cavity-tl430-240swc.html Maybe your mold is undersized? Lee had lots of issues with molds made before 2013. If your mold is a newer style (post-2013), I...
