    After reviewing commonly accepted loads on Quickload, they all have been around 9500 psi at 22" from the breech. I use that measurement because I figure that's approx where the gas port is on the Garand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    I use my digital calipers, open them to the bullet diameter, zero it, and then measure the outside of the most distant bullet holes. No math needed.

    Because I can, I always deprime and citric acid-wash w/SS pins all brass. It's easier to inspect and gets rid of the flash hole debris. I once seriously scratched a die trying to size first, but only did it once. Trying to save a little time...

    it's usually stamped "sterling". btw, there's lots of silver plate out there, scratch it deeply, those are usually brass or copper underneath.
