Avanger, Little question that there are better powders for the 45/70 then 4350. I use H335 in mine behind a 465gr Wide Flat Nose cast. AWESOME. But since you are specifying 4350, you might look up information for the Accurate Arms 4350, they...

The 45 ACP is already a very lead-friendly caliber right from the git-go, and I had zero leading or accuracy problems with my Glock 21s using cast bullets sized at .452" and lubed with Alox/BW. Bullets sized at .454" did well also. The 8-lobed OEM...

I have that same mold in 44 mag. Got to get it hot first for sure. You can plan on dumping first 5-6 pours back out until it gets hot. I also take a propane torch and heat both sides of the spruce plate with it and it always helps.

While I am in no way saying the 45/70 could not have decimated the buffalo herds, the fact of the matter is that by 1873 when the 45/70 came to be, the majority of the big herds were all ready gone. This is easily verified. However, a black bear...

That made me think back and laugh. I bought a 1984 Chevy 1500 in Kalispell in 1988 with the 6.2 diesel in it. I had parked in front of Super One Groceries and left my pickup running since it was winter, when I came back out there was an oldtimer...

Typo on my part. Was supposed to be a 3 not a 2. The first batch I ran with lyman#2 give me around 2.5 inch groups at a 100 yards. They are casting .461 but I'm sizing to .459 and lubing with bac.

I'm using a bottom pour and another 20 lb pot on a camp stove for ladling. I'm also using 2 molds but one is 45-70 2 cavity and other is a 4 cavity 45 colt. It takes a little longer for the big bullets to get set up in the mold verses the 45s. I...

I mixed up a batch of 50 lbs ww and 50 lbs pure. Added a few pounds of Linotype. Made new ingots and put in my Lee 4-20. Ladled some and bottom poured some. Air cooled and water quenched 50 of each. Weights this morning 24 hours later are from 388.2...

Shipping a doz short on a 100 pc order makes for a darn good profit, and his inventory will have another reason to outlast the business.

The single-best source of data I have found for 32 H&R Magnum is in the RCBS Cast Bullet Manual, #1 (1986), pp. 133. The data uses the RCBS #32--98-SWC bullet, which has been the best-performing bullet in my 32 SWL and 32 HRM for years, and shows...

Hot out today. Mixed up some ingots of range lead I'd purchased with some Linotype and melted my unused Rimrock and laser cast bullets into a 100 lbs of new ingots to run through my pot. Going to try and cast some 45-70 this afternoon. Hoping I made...

I find that even though the Accurate molds are made so as to cast bullets that function in and through the RUGER 77/44 magazine, you need to have a firm hand when chambering the rounds. More so with the 240gr WFN also from Accurate which I am still...

As a teen, we hunted an old farm and at times you didn't have to aim. The doves were so thick all you needed was to point skyward and squeeze.

I was warned that surgery done too soon, (before cataracts are full-blown) can result in secondary growth. Where I went, I waited for over a year for them to mature.

I got 2 boxes of these at Cabelas when they had a half off sale last year so I only have $78.00 in the whole batch. Thought if they would melt I would mix some pure lead or ww in and recast into a good hard 45-70. My Vaquero shoots the fine but...
