    Probably a silly question. Is there anything else that can be used as core material????? Not going to be used for shooting. Just decoration. Probably need something that can be deformed, and have enough resistance so it won't collapse.

    Never had a problem like that. My 1000 is almost trouble free. Almost because the priming system has never worked reliably since new. I just prime before loading.
