That picture is not what I am looking for but sure would blind a 2 legged critter if it didn't even hit him. I do have a 22 inch barrel but that is a lot of flame.

I have set it lower and higher. Either lube in excess on base or nose. The adjustment works ok. I have a heater under it but that was no help. After using the collet in sizer from NOE and sizing down first and then lubing it has been a piece of...

That looks like a older version of my Lyman 50th. I wish I had an older one. I’m starting out at 32 imr4198 and going to work up to 35 if need be. Got to make sure and take the chrograph to check my velocities. Forget it very time. Looks like 5744...

Marlin 1895 with Ballard rifling. NOE cast bullet with gas check. WW water quenched. I am just looking for 1500-1700 fps or so but don't want to use pistol powders except for myself. The hotter loads are for partner in crime. I had no luck with...

And, Lee molds are notorious for this particular problem. Pick up a drill & tap set and a tap wrench, along with a few set screws from the hardware store. You'll be prepared for "the next time"!

Divedigger, Use a Q-tip to apply the oil. Get the mold up to temp first and make several pours. Cut the sprue on the last one but LEAVE THE BOOLITS IN THE MOLD! Put ONE drop of oil on the Q-tip, with the sprue plate closed, apply oil...

I've been using pet bedding and candle wax. Saw somewhere where people were using Lizard Litter for flux. I bought 25 lbs when I was vibratory tumbling brass but am using FART with SS pins now. Plenty left over if it makes a good flux.

Thanks all. I've been lucky. Mine doesn't leak or hasn't yet. I'm sure one day it will. Usually when I clean I run a 22 caliber brush through pour spout and worse I've had is let lead get too cold and took a torch to the bottom for a few seconds...

RD, the .690" ball is large enough that it should center itself in a 12 ga. shotcup, you'll probably want a nitro card in the cup under the ball though.

tommieboy, it has been proven that rifled slugs really DO spin as they fly. They don't spin like a rifle bullet but they do spin slowly. A "square" slug doesn't require much spin to stabilize, just as a 12 Ga. RB only needs a 1:100 or 1:120 rifling...

I didn't see any need to switch boolits when I wanted a small game load for my 30-30. I use the Lyman 311041, tumble-lubed w/o gas check over 4.5 grains of bullseye. Deadly on the local squirrel population w/o being overly damaging and it shoots...

I'm not going to argue on that as I do have several dies for several calibers. My only question was since most of my molds throw so much larger I figured this one to do the same. For a cheap Lee 2 cavity it makes nice bullets I found out this...

wendyj replied to a thread 9 mm Loading in Cast Boolits
I'm not a Lee basher. Several molds. Three Lee presses and countless dies. I'm not going by what Joe blow said. I had to go with CBS cowboy dies in my 45 because a 454 seater and expander just wouldn't work. Same for my 45-70. Lee is cheaper on a...

Just got home and checked my turret set up. Dies are not Lee but rcbs. Only Lee is short charging bar. Experimented with a piece of 9 mm and flared fine to hold a 357 bullet I molded and sized to .358. Small bulge in case but I think sizing to .357...

I was using the Henry golden boy in 45 and used 13.5 grains of HS6 using the NOE 454-255 mold. Lubed with Carnuba blue and it done great. Wanted the 45 Blackhawk and traded it off and regret it now.
