With clean shiny cases that you de-burr first you might have good luck with a lead pot . With a case mouth brush it shouldn't be much of a big deal to remove the tempilac , the few times I've used it it has came right off . You also more...

750` degrees is what your looking for , I like to use the Lee lock studs from the trimmers and spin the case slowly in a drill while annealing .

Not knowing how your annealing your cases it might be a good idea to invest in some templac crayons in the correct heat range . Over annealing and making the cases to soft can cause wrinkles and splitting as easily as being to hard .

redneck1 replied to a thread Snyder Carbine in Military Rifles
In most Snyder rifles it usually ends being cheaper in the long run to use the fiocci hulls . A lot of these don't have the roundest of chambers and the brass cases don't hold up for very long before splitting . If you can beg a couple cases...

redneck1 replied to a thread Lead Shot? in Lead and Lead Alloys
I've been reclaiming shot from the club to cast bullets with for a few years now , I treat it just the same as wheel weights without any issues at all . It does seem a touch harder but it's never been an issue for me . Just like wheel...

Can't argue with using as low a heat as possible , it also helps to keep a nearly constant stir happening . It's also easier if you start with just a little fat And add new in as it renders . To get really creamy white lard a lard press...

I don't have the space for grazing , when I first started raising pigs I used to buy a couple bales of good alfalfa hay for them . Everyone thought I was crazy but they ate the heck out of it And grew good with a very reduced grain ration . Hay...

I got the Ballard way back in 1992 or 1993 , honestly can't remember now . They aren't real common here in my corner of the world and the fellow i got from didn't know much of anything about it , except he couldn't get it to shoot worth a darn . ...

I never used the bullplate , but a small bottle of synthetic two stroke oil only costs about $2 works very well And will last a lifetime .

Hmmm , slopped hogs get fatter . That's something I think I might try . We don't usually let our pigs get much over 220-230 lbs And getting enough fat on them for proper sausage making is a challenge some years . Like this year ,...

Funny , I've never had a sad thought on kill day . They get to be real jerks when they get over 180 lbs or so .

If the weather cooperates we will do the black pig next week , If I was able to hobble around a bit better we would have done them both at the same time . Normally though we do both pigs at the same time to save a whole lot of extra clean up...

My neighbor and I raise two pigs together . It works out better then us each raising our own . They seem to grow faster with eating competition. This year has been a challenge, we got the pigs a month late , and I broke my leg . But my...
