I blew up my dad's single shot Ithaca 20 gage. I must have dragged the muzzle thru a snow drift because when I shot it the barrel split near but short of the muzzle. Not a big split. I got snow in the muzzle of my Win 94 30-30 but I noticed it....

The four rules, like most rules have exceptions. 1) Treat every firearm as if it were loaded. 2) Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire. 3) Never point a firearm at anything you do not wish to destroy. 4) Always be sure of your...

I don't carry ammo loose in my pocket or at least not often. I use ammo belt, wallet, case or magazine if they are not in ammo boxes. It is also rare that I have ammo with exposed lube except .22 LR. If I do they are probably in a typical ammo box...

In normal times that would be fair but powder is now rare and lead is still common. You can get a better deal, or at least I know I can. I still can get lead for a dollar a pound. I did not see that it was linotype. Yes, that would be fair. Tim

dtknowles replied to a thread New rimfire round in Rimfire Area
Rimfire factory ammo should be cheaper than factory centerfire ammo. My idea for 8 x 25 mm rimfire is a little hotter than .32 SWL but not quite a .32 H&R. 8mm so that it will not chamber in .32 RF long. A 100 gr. bullet at 1000 fps hits a lot...

I don't think the Lee chart of pressures is of any use. Does not seem to match common successful usage. Keith said that .44 magnum bullets should be at least 16:1 which is a BHN of 11. The .44 Mag. is a 30K psi plus round. The Lee chart would...

You mentioned the jacketed bullet does not have a cannelure. You don't say what you are hunting but on a big deer that might not be a good choice as it is probably a bullet designed for 40 S&W and will not penetrate well. It will probably over...
