Harter66 replied to a thread 45 Colt - RF vs SWC in Cast Boolits
I had both the 255 and 252 and both shot equally well in a 7.5" RBH . Both of those and a 454424 killed 135-165# hoof weight hogs at 10 ft to 50 yd with a 1050 fps MV decisively .

    I aquired one a while back . I think I ran it once to check design . Getting over heated wasn't problem but it's barely a problem in a 25 cal single let alone a 4C . 257134 .

I can't be alone . I've shot it in pistols from 380-45 Colts via 357 mag . I've shot it in rifles with case families of 223, 30-30,308,06' and belted mags . 12,16,20 ga shot guns . At BP pressures it is dirty but it shines above about 15kpsi ....

Harter66 replied to a thread New cartridges. in Cast Boolits
It took my new cartridge most of 20 years to make it to the Lyman manual . The most of the cartriges that we thrive on are 50+ now ....... Several very popular of late are getting close to 150 yr old . The 357 is 85 ..... I liked the WSM -...

    The Sept 18' 1917 I had shot H&G #130s , 452-200 RNFP , and 45-200 SWC very well but the 452-255 and 454424 poorly . All over 5.5 Unique in both AR and ACP . Mom's Colts 1917 shot both the 255 and 424 well . Mom's Colts has .454 throats...

    Harter66 replied to a thread I'ma Thinkin 1895 . . . in Leverguns
I had a 2010 1895G . I guess I got lucky . Anyway it's pretty happy with the 457193 whether it's Trapdoor Unique loads or the modern lever H322 loads . Those drop about .458 out of a 2016 mould and have never had fouling . I shot some paper patched...
