That's starting to look very good with the vertical. What are you using for primers? I see in Europe they tend to use a hot Magnum primer and I also have used them in the past but but switched to a lesser heat primer that gives me better results....

Jim, In the 2.4 I use a .023" wad cut from a soy milk or OJ carton over the powder because I use a 3/16 lube wad and a .03" polly or gasket under the bullet to use up the extra room of the light powder charge in the 2.4 case with a 83 gr load of...

Jim, For both matches I was using the CPA .45-2.4 and the chamber was cut using my tight 5/2.5 compound transition chamber. And I used this BA bullet https://www.buffaloarms.com/442-525-grain-paper-patch-bullet-mold-1-cavity-flat-base-jim442525...

This Swiss/Olde Eynsford powder discussion will go on as long as both powders are made I believe. I shoot both Swiss and OE and both have shot well till the last lot of Swiss really went down hill for me. In 2016 the MT 1000, now this lot of...

That is a good start now do a ladder load. Increase your powder load one grain three loads each from about .075" compression to .270" 1.90mm to 6.85mm. Change nothing else and shoot the 3 shot groups. You will see the best load starting when you...

LOL, I like these discussions it's almost like eating sour or sweet grapes which taste better LOL. Heck when I was a Kid with my first $15. roller in the .43 Spanish I couldn't afford buying powder making .50 cents an hour stacking the bales in...

There are a couple of those .40 bn's one is the 2.25 they use a .45-90 case necked down and the other is the one with a shorter neck 2.1 that is a necked down .45-70 case. If I remember right I think the neck of the 2.25 is around .4 or .445" that...

It can be done even with a swaged rebated cup based 1/20 alloy. Nothing exotic base protection needed. That is a bullet shot with my .40-70 Shiloh.

No you don't want the wad below the neck in a BN case. What bullet are you trying to use? How long is the bullet? What diameter is the bore riding portion of the bullet? When you try to seat the round and it won't chamber, where did the lands...

:) Jim that would be like asking the Skippy peanut butter CEO which is better Skippy or Peter pan :) I been shooting the old Shiloh Farmingdale with the generous chamber using 1.5, 2, and 3F OE ladder loads and the 2F has been the winner. But I...

All my CPA rifles and change barrels have tight chambers for the PP only cut with my reamers. They will not except a DDPP bullet. Today I was looking through the Buffalo Arms web site at .44 PP bullet moulds and I see there is one of Arnies DDPP...

Ian I think your starting to see something....maybe.....2 wads the results are improving over one wad. What is the second wad doing ? sealing the bore and keeping the gas behind the bullet instead of leaking past with one wad. A .06" wad is hard and...

OE will hold it's own without a problem. It is no different working up a load with Swiss and OE. The right person behind the butt plate with the skills to handle the rifle.

John, I have no idea what null-B powder is and I don't screen my powder. What I have done once was put partley empty cans of 1.5,2 and 3F OE in a coffee can and mixed it to use for blowing out .44 basic cases necked down to the .44-90bn to blow...

Very good ian. Now get that what I call fat fingering ( the left oblique vertical group) and the last second shoulder push when you let the shot go, those holes will be even tighter.
