He later called it a .42-85 and it was on a .45/2.6 case Brian (semtav ) also was working on a .42-85 around that time but I don't think he ever had it made. I think it would be a better round then the .40-82.

Lead pot replied to a thread Home solar systems? in Our Town
If you want to get off the grid it takes more then solar alone. It takes a combination of sun, wind and composed. Just composed you can heat water for winter heat and collect methane off the pile to cook your food and heat your domestic water...

When I test alloy or just shoot on a rainy day I get out in the shed and shoot :) These remnants are typical of my patches using 75 or 100 % cotton onion skin paper, or even 25% cotton .0018 to .0020" paper. Using a soft vellum translucent tracing...

That is a good price Rob. I cut a lot of my wads from one gallon ice cream buckets the kids save for me that is a very good soft resin that are a little thinner at around .040" thick and some brands are around .036" If I feel I need a thicker wad...

Your patches look good. It's not uncommon to see the inner wrap like what you have. Here is a good place to get your LDPE material and cut the wads with your press mounted Fred Cornell wad punch. ...

Don that bullet is just fine as it is. I use the same bullet and diameter as Richard does in my .45-90 with just a couple grains more of powder (83) and I have shot 10 for 10 at the MT. 1000 a 10 for 10 at Baker 1023 yards and a 87-1 and the second...

Richard I looked at your bullets and the gas cuts are bad. I don't see any problems with slump or any nose setback with your 1/16 alloy. The .4427 diameter bullet is not a problem as well as the wad your using. You might try adding a milk carton wad...

Very good. The reason I asked is I don't see results like you have posted. but I don't shoot greasers to often. Here is a sample of some 1/20 alloy I got from Rotometals but this bullet was the mini grooved money bullet that took a hard setback...

I take a cold fresh cast bullet and insert it in the closed mould base first with very light pressure till it bottoms out then I take my knife and make a mark on the bullet. This is where the patch goes at the point where the ogive meets the shank....
