Well you have a good base with the tallow and B wax. I have to ask, your tallow is it a hard tallow or just a rendered soft like lard ? There is a difference between the two. But If it is a hard dry tallow you could use that without adding B wax...

A lot of information posted about shooting and loading blackpowder is repeated by what I call cockatoo's, they repeat what the read without ever using or doing it. My favorite lube is or has petroleum products in it like Vaseline, Ozokerite wax...

I wish Ron would make a .438/446 barrel. I called him about a .44 left hand gain twist but all he would do is a .416. I just might have him make a .40. Like I need another :)

Forgot; I normally order a sizing reamer for a uncommon chamber reamer like the original .44-75 Ballard chamber and make my own sizing die for forming proper cases for the chamber. This print above I did not make a reamer for it because I had a set...

Richard you can use my .40-65 drawing. It is for the Starline brass but it's a PP chamber only, it will not except a GG bullet. If you want to shoot a greaser you can enlarge the neck dimensions. I had this CPA rifle build especially for the...

Lead pot replied to a thread .50-70 in Black Powder Cartridge
I remember reading that many years ago. I think it was from the Wolf press in hand loaders or rifle shooter. A lot of those older rifles were more a .52 caliber then a .50 as well as some of the .44's were closer to a .45. If you don't want...

CG gave as good of a answer as any. compression is what it is. I have no set amount of compression for any of my loads or powder. I do what I call a ladder load. I start with zero compression and increase the powder load one grain per three rounds...

Naw, it don't all turn to liquid :) I done a lot of wad stack tests when I got some unexplained dirt diggers at the Lodi long range matches and gas cuts were the gremlins with the loads I used. Here are what different lube cookies and wad stacks...

If you use a blow tube use a lube wad. If your wiping between shots it serves no purposes, your wiping it out anyway. A lube wad does help seal the gas if your using a poor wad stack so I guess it does some good :)
