If it were mine, I would take it a shop that can read the diagnostic codes.

I've only made one two-piece stock from scratch, so I'm certainly no expert. What I did was to drill the blank from the rear as deeply as I could with a Forstner bit, and then completed the job with a twist drill to which I had welded an extension. ...

Hello Folks, The 32 itch is causing me to look at the Ruger SP101. The only SP101 I've ever fired had a horrendous trigger. Can the SP101 double action trigger be tuned to be really nice, of just so so? I really don't care about the single...

The solid case head is not sized in the FL die. The case wall will always expand to fill the chamber. The case head will not. The difference is the bulge.

It makes no difference if the case is sized a lot, a little, or not at all. That has nothing to do with the bulge. Unsized cases, neck sized only, still exhibit the bulge. The bulge is the difference between the diameter of the chamber and the...

The responses are correct. There are two o-rings, one on the lock nut and one on the seating stem. As noted correctly above, it appears the o-ring on the seating stem is missing.

Actually, the size die has nothing to do with extent of the bulge. Even if cases are neck sized the bulge will be the same. The size of the bulge is determined by the difference in the diameter of the chamber and the diameter of the solid...

It's because the case wall expands to fit the chamber, but the solid case head does not expand appreciably. What you are seeing is very common and is not a sign of an abnormality.

My Leupold 2.5x Ultralight scopes are perfectly adequate out to 200 yards. Any farther and I wouldn't shoot at game anyway.

Have you tried the Sierra 180 gr round nose bullets? They shoot wonderfully for me, and the difference in trajectory over spitzer bullets isn't enough to worry about. Zeroed at 200 yards w/ 2600 fps MV, either one will be about two inches high at...

Good advice. Many years ago I found that I like the 130 gr Sierra 7mm Single Shot Pistol bullet. At the LGS one day I was told they had been discontinued. The store owner, a friend of mine, offered to locate some for me. He did, by calling every...

When I was a child I had an old LC Smith hammer gun that was missing both locks. I fabricated faux lock plates and played with that gun for years.

P.s. 0.358" sizing dies are available from RCBS, Lyman, Redding and Lee. They would probably serve.

Hello Jaak, First, it is specifically the chamber throat that you need to fit. The cylinder has six chambers, and each chamber has a throat. The throat is the portion of the chamber through which the bullet passes when it exits the chamber,...

Lee rifle and pistol dies are as good as any. Some dies have special features that Lee dies do not, like micrometer seating stems or dual carbide sizing rings. I've tied them all. I keep coming back to Lee, because they load excellent ammunition.
