You could start with overall length of 1.275", load one, and drop it into your barrel. If it "plunks" it will probably run. Adjust your taper crimp die to give you a case mouth of 0.469 - 0.471". I use 0.452" diameter in all of my 45 ACP guns.

This lube is made from the same ingredients as many other lubes: 6 oz vaseline 6 oz paraffin 6 oz beeswax 1 oz Ivory bar soap There is no reason it can't be remelted. A double boiler is recommended to avoid scorching.

Have fun! I'm satisfied with my 44 Magnum revolvers. That 500 JRH should be a real monster stomper!

This sounds like a good idea, but I wasn't able to get it to work. The catchment funnel on my XL650 isn't even close to the exit port on the platform. This afternoon I ordered one of these. Thanks all.

Perhaps I was misled by an ignorant magazine writer. They are not the most reliable sources. The publication (for which I do not have a citation) claimed that modern 2400 is somewhat faster, and charges should be reduced.

Hercules 2400 (the powder Keith used) is different from Alliant 2400 powder (the powder available to us now). Further, speed depends on the gun you use. I have many 44 Rem Mag revolvers, and using the same bullet and charge of Alliant 2400, all...

The H&R 999, while not an expensive gun when new, is surprisingly accurate. If you decide to keep and shoot yours, I suspect it will quickly become your favorite 22 revolver.

My preference is for receiver mounted aperture sights. I don't like tang sights as they interfere with comfortable use and carry of the rifle. Receiver mounted aperture sights are also safer, as they are not in close proximity to the eyes. With...

At $210 per tire for top of the line Michelins the limitation is not severe. That includes shipping from TireRack.com.

Why do you chamfer the cases mouths after cutting to length, just to deburr? Later when you chamfer for the final time do you do an extreme chamfer or just a light chamfer? Ken Waters sometimes recommended an extreme chamfer, almost a knife edge.

It depends on the size of the turkey. A nice, large bird is worth the trouble to pluck, singe, and cook whole. They're quite good.
