I like Mikes articles although I don't follow the same path with my casting most of the time. I don't follow what others here do most of the time. I don't load rifle rounds with pistol powders much. I am one of those rare few that thinks I'm...

Second this approach. Bought the ER32 holder and ER16 straight shank holders - both. The first ER16 holder was a screwup and bought MT3(Morse Taper 3) not useful for my task at hand. C20 ER16A 100L Collet Chuck Holder CNC Milling Extension Rod...

I too like the look of natural light Maple but the fact is some Maple can be so light as to be almost white looking giving it a kind of cheap look, if that's the case then maybe a light Maple stain would be an improvement. If however it is a nice...

Don, that is listed in the pistol data and is the only OAL listed. In the rifle data the Lee 430-310 is not listed.

That's interesting, in the past I have owned two of the 36" barrel versions of the H&R 10 ga. and have sorely missed them, still kicking myself for letting them go! I didn't know what the 10 ga. receivers were cast from, never thought about it one...

Yes we DO know for sure! Not only is it common knowledge but as I said I actually saw it for myself, about three years ago a buddy damaged the ends of the threads of the stock tang screw hole in the receiver of a H&R shotgun he had been working...

The handloaders manual of cartridge conversions by Donnelly lists 11.15x60R Mauser, and my research shows that as what you're looking for. It says make from 11mm "a" base (Bell) case, and doesn't list any other sources.

No it's not a myth they are mallable iron, I tested this once by grinding on one which is an easy and absolute way of determining an iron casting vs a steel casting, there is no mistaking the difference in the sparks produced. There are no "extra...

I've traded close to 100 different guns in my time, most of which I regretted at some point. An old norinco SKS, which was my first centerfire rifle is one I regret letting go. I bought a powermatic planer for cheap from work and traded the 800.00...

It's way more than just heat treatment as the SB1 was basically a malleable iron casting (quite strong however) while the SB2 is a steel alloy.

I don't know why I didn't really consider getting a printer. At one time i had access to a work sanctioned xerox machine and I used to print a few here and there and they added up. I do have a friend with a printer, but I haven't talked to them...

I'd be surprised if it was a pressure issue because the primers are not flattened at all. Granted I have no experience loading the 327 magnum. I wonder if it could be a high primer issue? Maybe the primers were seated just flush and the pin hit...

Have you fired ammo that isn't S&B primed out of the gun without issues? If not then I'd suggest trying some, but most likely you have a firing pin issue. If so, then I'd say you got hold of some primers that have too thin cups.

I'd bet light 38s wouldn't be nearly as accurate as +p or starting/mid magnum loads. But I'm just guessing, I don't remember much abought the 1894c I had other than I sheared the forearm screw off shooting heavy 357s off the bench.
