When our oldest was a baby, I swore that we wouldn't overdo it with all the excessive toys and clutter. That didn't last. My boys' room sometimes needs cleaned with a scoop shovel. Every so often we just get rid of a bunch of stuff. I just can't...

I rode a 1980 XS11 for several years, a Midnight Special. I loved that bike! It couldn't hold a candle to modern sport bikes, but it sure was a lot of fun. I sold it when the kids started coming along. Maybe when they're grown I'll find another one....

It's a lot of work trying to dig out and get rid of stuff. I made the decision a couple years ago that I just have too much stuff. I needed to thin the herd dramatically. So I started out slowly and have picked up the pace. I've sold off and...

Sorry, we started sorting through a bunch, but there's just not as many FC as I thought. It would take hours to sort through them all, and there still might not be a thousand. There's more Speer and Blazer.

Thank you for posting that, Longbow. In the past I don't think I was terribly careful with lead exposure. In recent years, since having kids, I've become a lot more careful. I got a vent hood and a gallon of special lead soap for washing after...

I have one in .40sw. I wish I had bought the 9mm. I like the .40 well enough and it is fun enough to shoot, but it does have a sharp bang to it. I'm pretty sure I would have preferred the 9mm since I bought it as a fun plinker. On the other hand...

Yep, could happen. With the bullets I use you'd have to really slam them in hard, maybe use a hammer on the forward assist. I also would never fool myself into thinking that it could never be done, because you never know- split case neck, clueless...

Yes, that is the newer style without the fingers on the feed lips. Mine are the earlier style. They changed design over the years of production.

It doesn't take much for a steel rod to damage the bore, if you end up tapping a little too hard and it cuts through the tape. I'd be super careful with that. If it were me, I'd just try some powder coated, gas checked, .309" boolits and see how...

If you're interested at all in powder coating, that could easily solve your problem too. A little lapping of the molds, and powder coating the bullets, and they'd be just about perfect. Powder coating alone would probably get them to .458" or better.

It sounds like 23gr is a safe enough load, so long at there's not a couple in there with 46gr instead, by accident (or even one).
