I have several old boxes like that. They are collectible as far as that goes, but not particularly valuable, just too common. Last year I picked out seven loose rounds dated 1917 from my collection, and shot them. For 100 year old ammo they all shot...

I'm confused; what is a 4.89 GPA? Must be some new kind of grading scale I'm not familiar with. Seems like much ado over nothing. The computer system did what it was programmed to do because it can't be programmed to think. The order got screwed...

I use these cases for a specific purpose. I trim them down to make 9x18 Makarov brass. With tapered 9mm brass, sometimes it seems I’d get more “bullet bulge” than I wanted. I was scrapping this stepped brass anyhow so I trimmed some and found a...

One safety concern I would have about melting down bullet jackets would be vaporized lead. At the temperature copper melts, I'd sure be careful to stay away from the fumes.

I think it should easily fit in a MFRB, but maybe I’m being optimistic. I’ll chop it up into MFRB sized squares on the table saw tomorrow and see how they fit. They’re thin so I think they should all fit.

Thanks for the info. If anyone wants it just let me know. I have maybe 10 or 15 lbs. if nobody wants it by the end of next week I’ll toss it in the dumpster at work.

Nothing on the bare aluminum with brown paper, but the stuff with the blue film had a manufacturer, so I looked them up and found this: http://www.itwinsulation.com/roll-jacketing "manufactured in 3300 and 3105 alloys" and "contains a baked-on...

I have a fair amount of this aluminum sheeting that I salvaged from work, but it's been sitting in my shed for a couple years and I've come to the realization that I'm never going to make gas checks. For the small quantity that I use, I'm way better...

Sorry for the slow reply. I've been gone for a few days. I haven't heard back from him as to what he's decided to do. I told him he should contact the seller and at least let them know. In my opinion "functions fine but as-is" shouldn't mean...

Careful, Traffer; don't take the bait like I did. I was reading an interesting and sincere discussion and was annoyed by what I perceived as a clear attempt to derail it. My response was out of line primarily because it actually did derail the...

OK you win. You're right, I'm wrong. I know better than to ever post on stuff like this and I've deleted my posts. My apologies all around. The post I took exception to was made by a well known atheist who likes to poke at those who don't share his...

I see I'm not the only one who compares the Blackout to the old Carbine, at least a little. My first reason for comparison was because the cost to load the two rounds is nearly the same: a cast bullet with a gas check and a very similar charge of...

A friend brought his new (used) pistol over to show me yesterday. He was pleased with the good price he got it for off of Gunbroker, but he said the bore looked a little odd to him. It's a Walther P22. The bore indeed looked funky, especially the...

A friend was telling me one time about a range he used to shoot at. You could only shoot ammo purchased at the range, and absolutely no picking up brass. I'm sure glad I can shoot at an outdoor range without goofy, ridiculous rules like that. ...

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I did the same thing, long ago. I spent good money on this supposedly wonderful flux called Marvelux. I tried and tried to use it, I really did. I tried following the instructions as best I could. After all, it's...

I've had troubles on occasion with slow texts. I'm frequently on call for work, and the fully automated plant will send out texts any hour of the day or night if anything goes wrong. It's pretty important because often I can adjust something quickly...

I remember the good old days of 2c .22lr ammo. My Grandpa used to tell me that was too much because he used to pay 49 cents per box. But then when you factor in a little thing called inflation, you might as well be talking about pesos or rubles. A...

I agree; powder coating is a big one. As much as I hate to say it, it’s been revolutionary for cast bullets. I didn’t want to like it because it just seemed hokey, trendy, and too darned new-fangled for my tastes, but now I can never go back to...
