I'm confused. The cartridge in that photo looks more like a .223 Remington to me. Am I missing something?

It’s not just gun shows, by any means. I was at a gun shop once, years ago, and came across a mis-marked rifle on the used rack. I politely asked about it and mentioned that I didn’t think it was what he thought it was. He very stern and rude, how...

Thanks again everyone. I ordered the easy one. I appreciate everyone's input. I have a degree in electronics but I've never worked in the field. School doesn't mean much compared to actual experience. Not much at all actually. I wasn't meaning to...

I never had any experience at all with a Beretta 92/M9 until I bought a surplus 92S a year or two ago. Numrich had them for $199, and the one I got appeared unfired. I've come to really appreciate it; it's a good shooter.

I did a little reading on the subject, on a couple HVAC forums, and found a couple people who said that you shouldn't go over the spec rating for motor run caps or eventually the motor would burn up, then others said there was more of a margin for...

At first I did a search using that model number, thought I’d come up with the exact part, but apparently that number doesn’t mean much.

That’s half of it. The one I need is a dual-run, with three terminals. I could use that one along with a cheap 6uF cap for the fan motor, if need be, but if you all are pretty sure it will be fine I think I’ll just order one of the 50/7.5uF dual run...

Here's what happened: I noticed a squeak in the fan motor last year, and this year it was worse and the fan started bogging. I took it apart and replaced the motor bearings (the outside bearing was really bad). I just happened to have the right size...

I have a question about capacitors, and my electronics training is rusty. I have a 15 year old AC unit that gave up the ghost, and I've determined that the problem is the capacitor. The problem is in finding a replacement capacitor. This one is...

Yea, that one surprised me more than anything else. I just couldn't believe that they consider it normal and acceptable for the cylinder face to ride on the barrel like that. I just happened to have some cylinder bearing shims and they fit OK. The...

I put two .004" shims in front of the cylinder, tightened it up very well. I just got back from the range and it shot very well. I guess I won't hate it now, so long as it doesn't fall apart again. I posted targets on the Ruger Wrangler thread in...

I had the day off today, so my son and I went out to the range. I took the Wrangler, the Rough Rider, my old Ruger Standard auto, and a funky gun I expect many have never heard of- a Ram-Line Exactor. I shot from a bench, resting my arms on a...

They say you can't prove a negative... I've been following this subject for years, thought it was interesting back when I used dry tumblers. A number of guys online really got into it, tumbling live ammo of various calibers with various powders...

I guess I lucked out finding mine at a show right after they came out, and in the color I preferred (black). I got my Rough Rider back from Heritage. I'll take them both to the range again tomorrow, see how they do. I can't really blame Heritage...

I used to do it too. Tumbled a lot of rounds with no ill effects at all. I just don't care for sticky ammo. It was just for a short time though, not overnight or anything. Nowadays I don't use my dry tumbler at all anymore. Like Mica Hiebert in...

There's a lot of truth in this. Many aren't taught to take pride in their work anymore. On the other side of the coin are corporations killing the pride. More for less is the new mantra. I've been wondering for a while why we all feel so overwhelmed...

I sure seem to be accumulating them myself! I know some folks look down their nose at the little .22, and I know lots of guys can load .38s and whatnot for the same cost, but sometimes an afternoon of shooting .22s is just plain fun! Here's a...

Thank you. Apparently that’s standard for the design. It seems to work fine as long as you cock it with authority. Now that I know that’s how it’s supposed to be I won’t let it bother me. To be honest I probably won’t shoot it that much, now that...

I just got the Rough Rider back today. If they would have let me talk to someone who knew something before sending it in, it would have saved my money and their time. Apparently the seriously out-of-time cylinder and complete lack of cylinder gap...

I've been wondering about lead and steel lately. It seems like shooting steel has become so much more popular in the last few years. It is a lot of fun. I even bought an AR500 steel gong myself. I was putting it up recently and noticed gray powder...
