Some No.4 front sight bases are adjustable. The base is split to form a clamp with a screw to clamp the sight down tight. The unusual head of the screw can be turned using a inner tube valve wrench. I replaced a broken off screw in one of these...

Sounds like this rifle was manufactured at the best time for quality control. IIRC many of the Indian rifles made in the 20's and 30's had surplus British made English Walnut stock sets left over from WW1 production. That or made from British stock...

I wonder if anyone has experimented with maximum velocity loads with the .30 Carbine using .32 ACP type J words or light cast boolits. These would likely require single loading because of short OAL. A solid copper or zinc alloy bullet should work...

Personally I don't consider such custom modifications to be messing up a rifle like this. The Finn Mosins are fine rifles but really not rare enough to make a fuss over. The Finns have been radically customizing these rifles for decades. Always...

I've seen images of a Mosin Nagant converted to relocate the bolt handle behind the bridge. It was a long range match rifle, the conversion done to accommodate a centerline mounted Unertal scope. The process looked to be straight forward and fairly...

" I found it shot "okay" up through about 1550 1600 fps regardless of alloy, lube or powder that was used. " Sounds like the .30 Carbine having a limited velocity range to begin with should be very well suited to cast Boolit velocities. I...

I wouldn't mind having a 93 or 95 action rebarreled for the .30-30 Winchester or .32 Special. I think it would make for an excellent cast boolit woods rifle. Years ago very good condition 93 actions were available for $25. Wish I'd got one while...

No.4 or SMLE. Go whole hog and do a Delise type conversion sans suppressor tube. The receiver can be relief cut to allow a larger diameter breech for the more powerful cartridge. A friend told me of his plans to convert a SMLE to .45 Colt...

Whatever their value to you, being put in an all or nothing situation is not cool so you should expect them to accept a good deal less than their normal values combined. The ones you aren't particularly interested in might grow on you, or perhaps...
